As far as I know, the crashes are mildly tame, but they can give you and idea of what happens. What you'll want to watch for is when the bike goes off by itself on both wheels after it does a couple rolls and/or flips. I have yet to see this happen in TT. The last clip is AMAZING! It's a pretty popular one, but it's still cool to see.

This all makes the crashes in TT look really, really fake... I want to see the dirt/grass/sand thrown around and apply the "Rag-doll" physics to the rider as he(/she?) goes tumbling.

Anybody actually seen the bike go riding off by itself in TT?
 
Yes, I've had it happen to me. If the rider clips something when he/she/it is leaning the bike will most often go on by itself. I have had the bike flip in the air as well.

The best was winning a challenge, having the rider spill and then the AI ram the bike and then the rider respectively.

I also believe you're asking for a bit too much from the PS2. They could have downgraded the graphics quality to accomodate more crash animation, but I don't believe it would add much to the game. I mean, Toca3 has damage, but the graphics are no where near the quality of GT4 or TT.

I wasn't asking for the Damage modeling, just the rag-doll physics... I was just taking into account the numerous complaints that people have given to the 'slide' that the rider does after a crash.

Something to look foreword to in the PS3 version of Tourist Trophy Two. (TTT? T3?) I just can't wait to see what happens when there's a Cell Processor for every AI on the field, A Cell for the Physics, a Cell for the Sound, and the rest of the cells for all the other stuff... like... real time cloud rendering? And then there's the GPU...
 
I've actually fallen off, then had the guy behind me hit my downed bike and fall himself. :)

Btw. just watch any race with Ruben Xaus and you'll see him fall. :p

Crashing out of a race resets too quickly, but crashing out of a challenge or license test leads to some good incidents on the bike. Apparently the game isn't capable of doing a true high-side, the closest I've seen is the bike is sideways, then slowly rolls over the top, but the rider still falls off behind the bike.

My best crash was a challenge at Deep Forest, came out of the tunnel on that long left, got just outside the curb and jacked the bike up when it came back on track. It went vertical, sideways to the track, and bounced on the back wheel several times, came back down just in time to ram the guard rail, eject the rider and roll several times into the final turn.

As for the bike riding off by itself, any time you get too close to a wall, the rider is swept off the bike and it continues on alone.
 
That's a pretty good compilation. I remember seeing most of those when they happened. There's a really good one about 50 seconds in that shows a bike's natural affinity for staying upright. This is a good reminder that you're either a part of the bike, or you're a hinderance. I've been saved from a gravel sandwich many times by just taking my weight off the handlebars and letting the bike work itself out. Certainly I wasn't going as fast as they were but it's good to remember for street riding.

Lol, try telling that to Gary McCoy after he rebroke his pinned wrist at Donnington Park, which is one of the crashes on this vid.

Last save is awesome, if you liked that google Randy Mamola's save and you'll jump out your seat...

wow thats an awesome vid. i really like the few that have the gas spill and explode...thatd be an awesome thing to include in TT2, in a bad enough wreck, have it explode!
 
I thought the crashes would be a lot worse but I actually found some of them quite funny and amusing. :lol:
He had a great recovery at the end.
I never fell of my bike when I had it but I came very close a couple times.
 
Oh wait this reminds me I fell off my quad this weekend doing a little jump then a wheelie and Heather caught it on video. We laughed so hard watching it over and over again. :lol: I rolled by saying "weeeeeeeeeee" :lol:
