As mentioned elsewhere, having completed the career missions, I'm working through the game at the moment to acheive the coveted 100%.

So, I was running the fire missions at Staunton Island last night, and came up with these neato little side games that I'm sure people will enjoy.

A LIFT TO THE POOL
As you fly along the freeways at Staunton Island in your fire engine, attempt to punt other traffic into the waterways alongside the freeway. This will of course kill the other cars, but hey, that's why they have insurance!

PED BILLIARDS
As you fly along the streets in any of the islands in Liberty City, attempt to punt other traffic into groups of pedestrians! Don't hit the police cars (or, alternately, do hit the police cars!). The beauty of this game is that if you do it in sight of the police, you don't get in trouble, because technically it wasn't you that hit those fourteen pedestrians!!

Please share other little fun things you do in GTA3 that aren't part of the game (apart from sniping with a rocket launcher).
 
Even though it's part of the game, I really enjoyed the "Torch the Triads" rampage. Randomly roasting pedestrians is too much fun... :fdevil:

If you want to be king of the road, get the Barracks OL. Get the big bastige up to speed and run through traffic. Watch the cars go airborne! :rotfl:
 
BUSSIN' EM' THROUGH!

that's the name I gave to one of my favorite things to do, take a coach, drive around the city, and eventually some moron will go through the intersection and I bunt them out of the way. Sometimes cops get involved, I can't help it if they go when thier light is green. So then I'm bariling down the road, full speed, cops chasing, bashing through roadblocks in a 20 ton block. And the only time I stop is when I flip or it catches on fire.

EVERYTHING GOES BOOM!
I put in the weapons cheat a ton of times, find a place with lots of traffic, find a nice high part, take out the rocket launcher, and shoot everything. Cops come, hell shoot them to. Helicopters? No problem, they go down too. Next thing you know, you've killed hundreds of people and cars...

TRAIN WRECK
drive a car into the subway, and park it so that the front is against the corner of the wall with the car on the tracks. Just wait, the train comes, and your car(what was your car) is being crushed to death and it explodes.

LOOKOUT BELOW!
Drive a car(or bigger viehicle)ontop of a tall building(the AMCO building in Stuanton is the tallest I think, but you can do this on the parking lot, the building at the Portland harbor(drive up the stairs), and other places)and park on the edge, get out, and push your car off and it'll fall on anyone or anything below. You can also try to jump on the car and ride it down...


That's about all I can think of right now...
 
Okay, another one:

PARKING LOT SNIPE, LAUNCH AND DASH
Load with sniper shots and rocket launchers. Go to the car park on Staunton Island (you have to this after you can get to Shoreside Vale, and thus get 6 stars). Go to the first level of the car park, opposite one of the entrances, so you have a clear shot through the entrance with the sniper rifle. Start shooting peds (especially those peskie Yardies) until the police come. Shoot them too (great fun when they get stuck on the barrier). Eventually you'll do enough to warrant a helicopter. Run upstairs, grab the rocket launcher and blow it up. Go back downstairs and start shooting peds again. Repeat this process until you get 6 stars. Once you can see tanks flying around, go and grab a car. Now the dash begins. Your objective is to make the jump from the roof of the parking lot and make it to the Pay 'n' Spray before a tank or the FBI get you!

Extra difficulty options:
- take a Perennial wagon as your get-away car
- or, try exiting from the bottom entrance instead of via the rooftop jump!
 
HIGH DIVE:

If I get stuck on the bridge to Shoreside Vale (when the center is up) I like to get out of my car and push the other cars off the end of the bridge and into the murky depths below.

HIGH DIVE v.2:

Get a bus (or flatbed truck) and push other cars of the sides of the small, two lane bridges of Staunton Island. I was able to push another bus off once (giggles maniacally).

A variation on this is to give them a little nudge with your car, or shoot at them. Nice - I play this game too!
 
here's a new one since I just got to Shoreside tonight:

PAVEMENT CAR
wait till the shoreside bride goes up, put your car hanging off the edge, and when it comes down, the front, or back of your car will be into the pavement. You can then ramp another car off of it, or get in and pop it out.
 
BOOM!!!
I go get a bomb in my car and go to pick up a lady. When she comes over and looks in I get out and run away. She gets into the car and BOOM!!! Got 2 stars for doing this once.

Mate - we all do that! Ya gotta make some sort of game of it - like, only beating up guys in the overcoats and hats or something.

I love running down the street and punching people at random - you can get a bit of a group of police chasing you. It's great fun leading them around the city, especially with Infinite Run.
 
today i watch pedestrians jump into the river from behind me for no reason at all.... then i shot their floating bodies. Other things I'll do are run pedestrians over with my car, snipe them, go on a driveby against the Cartel, cause mayham with my car. :) Fun.

Geez, dude, if I wasn't inclined to continue machine gunning dead peds who give me trouble I'd say you had issues!

I dont have issues.... it was just weird seeing pedestrians jump into the river for no reason. its just a game, id never do such a thing in real life.
 
yea, take the uzi, pull your car up to someone elses at a light, and then just shoot thier car out the side of yours and they usually will race you.

Here's another game I play:

Cruise control drivebys

jump in the back of a truck as it's going, and just stand there, and shoot the other cars and people as you go by. If you really want to have fun, shoot the truck that your standing on and it will race away, but if it crashes you will be flung out. You can also do this onto of cop cars, but they tend to not like it...
 
ONE CAR RACE

On the mission "Turismo" instead of racing the cars, I take out the tank and blow them up when the race starts. Then you have all the time to complete the mission.

Subway Fun!

Get to a Subway station that is outside, as opposed to the underground one. Take your sniper rifle out and take a few people out on the station. If you do it just right other peds will run away aimlessly onto the track and the train will come by and ram the helpless idiot at full force.


Freestyle

Another thing to do if you are really board is to put the hydraulic code on. Then find a wall and go as fast as you can head-on to it. Then jump the slightest second before you hit it. You'll do about 3 flips really fast. I once had done 6 with the Banshee.
 
I always beat up the grandmas and the guys that wear pink.

And when I steal a car and the guy is trying to be tuff I get his car back, I beat him down and kick he's head until the medics come, then I beat up the medics and steal the ambulance.

All in the nature of entertainment of course.
 
DRIVE-BY DEMOLITION DERBY
When driving over either of the bridges and you see a line of cars, drive-by each of them, and then let them pass and watch their crazy racing!!
 
I sometimes jump onto a pickup truck and start sniping people with the sniper rifle while its driving. If the truck slows down too much, I'll fire a round into the roof and he'll start driving faster.
 
Here's one I came up with last night...

Hang around in the area of the road to Salvatore's mansion in Portland, and get your wanted level up to two stars however you please. When you do that, run on foot towards Salvatore's, but make sure that you have the two cruisers following you.

At this point it's just funny enough to see the two cop cars bashing each other up as they follow behind you, but here's the fun part... lead them a little ways up the path to Salvatore's, then jump over the ledge down onto the beach (make sure your health is full before doing this, BTW). Sometimes the cop cars will stupidly follow you over the edge and land upside-down in front of you!

Even better, if you can get your level up to three stars then they'll take a running launch right off the ledge and sometimes right into the ocean, but you have to really be careful because then they have no problem with running you over on sight.


Another neat thing I found out is that if you kick stuff out into the road where cars will run into them (like those mailboxes on the side of the road in Staunton Island, or tires from a blown-up car), often times the traffic will run right over them and flip over. Then any cars behind it will run right up on top of it, putting them right in the position to blow up when the flipped car goes... mass destruction, and you didn't have to waste any ammo or cash for a car bomb!

And one more... did you know that the pumps at the AMco gas station in Portland will explode if you shoot them? Try parking a bunch of cars in between all the pumps, then stand near the entrance to the station, shoot a pump and see if you can take the whole lot out at once!

This game is really too much fun...

This reminds me of another little game I like to play...

"CHANGING LANES" (after the movie of the same name)

Get a reasonably fast car, but not too fast (like a Kuruma or Stallion), then shoot at a car that's identical to yours. If they take off, immediately give chase and follow them all over the city, ramming them, shooting at them, and acting out all your road rage fantasies. Keep it up until the other car loses you or one of you blows up... police interference only adds to the fun. ;)

The real fun is watching the car you're pursuing as it slides wildly all over the road trying to lose you, smashing into light poles and buildings and cross traffic. If you pick something with a loose suspension like a Bobcat or Landstalker, they'll probably end up wiping out after taking a corner too hard!

If you want a real kick, try this with Linerunners and see what happens... 😈
