so this is the car that has one of the best lap times around the 'Ring

I've obviously never driven one in real life but I thought this was supposed to be a very fun car to rip around?

The stock and untuned Viper ACR feels awkwardly dull compared to other supercars in this game (namely the gear changes, engine/exhaust sound, mediocre steering)

Did PD screw this one up or is it quite accurate to its real-life counterpart?

make sure the aids are turned off, and it's not going to be fun if you're on racing softs, so if you are, change them for sports med/soft or hard if you're brave.

You probably won't get a very good answer for this. I believe Yev tested a stock Viper ACR on Nordschleife in this game, and his lap time was much worse than the actual recorded one however the real ACR comes with some kind of racing tires. So perhaps with racing hards it will perform like the real one.

i had everything off except ABS 1...yeah i was on racing soft that's probably one of the problem..but the gearing and the sound still felt very meh

It's not the tyres or the aids, it is the car itself. It's really as far from an exciting ride when stock as you think.

I used this car for a race in the Supercar seasonal event. It wasn't as fun as I expected to be. I think I might prefer the Corvette ZR1. Still a good car though.

And 1K posts. :)

Most real life race car drivers prefer less "exciting" cars as they tend to be easier to drive at the limit of their performance envelope for extended periods.

I was thinking about buying the Viper ACR, but thought I'd decide to get the SRT-10, instead. However, I too found the SRT-10 to be quite dull, so I guess I'm not the only one with this problem. But, I found it best to just deal with it an give it a try and finding solutions to better the car. Such as setting up a gear ratio that would best fit the car's weight and power, making it quicker and faster, doing a weight reduction helps a lot! Also, if you tune it properly, I found it to have torque and hp together with just simple bolt-ons and a supercharger. It helped me out on the Supercar Event in the Seasonal Events online, however, I can't seem to beat the R390, I would have to be clean on the tracks and be stable on the car, despite the number of restarts I had to do, haha...but it is possible to win that 5 race event. I also find it helpful to have the active steering on mild and buy Racing Medium tires. As for power, I'm sure that I have about 640HP with just about 690 ft. lbs. of torque. Now, with that said, not sure if this would work for you're ACR, but you can give this a shot. As for me buying an ACR...not sure...yet.
