I don't know about you guys but I had an urge to take time out and play a little gt3 and I used the RX-8 even though it was in the arcade mode and under free run with out asm and tc. I have to say aside from the trans that sucker is niceeee. I won it along time ago but stupidly sold it to get the money from it and I'm kinda :banghead: now because I realize how nice of a car it is. I've been seeing one that's supped up or has a factory body kit (just doesn't look stock to me) :odd: around in my area too. It's a niceee azz car.

Yeah, the RX8 is awesome, I love that car, in the game and in real life. I actually saw one at work last week for the first time, it was kind of an ugly green color, but still sweet lookin. If I had money i'd definently buy that car
 
I don't think the real RX-8 can be anywhere near as nice as the concept RX-8 in GT3. That car is great, and very lightweight for a normal car with OK power.
 
Yeah, thats the only drawback with that car...no torque. If you want a car thats nimble and responsive and has that race car feel thru the corners, thats your car.
 
You know why there's no turbo on this car? Just look at the maintenance records of the previous RX-7's with turbos on them :p
 
Well, if you want a racing version of the RX8, try out the LM version in GTC...:drool: I used it for all the races in GTC, it's just a great fantasy version...:)

From the front they're very similar. The S2000 is beautiful from the front, but from any other angle it's a long skinny slightly strange car. Even the taillights on the S2000 are one step away from being really nice, but they screwed it up by making the second set of lights the huge reverse lights instead of red taillights -- looks like cataracts.

You know, when i saw it at work last week, i almost thought it was an S2000 at first, cuz i was kinda far away, and the angle i was lookin at it looked a lot like one, but i got closer and i was like, oh snap! thats an rx8!
 
yeah but the thing is the one in GT3 is the concept version, the real one looks a bit different from this one, with a new front bumper and diff head and tail lights, and yeah the one in the game sorta does ressemble it, but the real thing doesnt really, if u want a performance one ill put a pic up, ahhh crap im doin this in the quick reply thing, hold on lemme get the pic

i like it and will go about winning it soon...

just one point of interest tho, the rx7-rz (or for that matter rs) is actually quicker and has more power.

I think the RX-8 looks better overall...

Though I must admit that the race mod on the S2000 in GT2 is my favourite as of now:cool:

I was just about to make fun of this comment, and then I scrolled down and saw the shots of the Mazdaspeed RX-8. Mouth = Shut

It may be faster but the rx-8 handles so much better and doesn't feel sluggish. Are they actually selling the rx-8 already? I thought they didn't come out til 04??

they're selling them now, they have em in show rooms for u to test drive, though u have to special order them b/c they dont always have them in stock
 
Yeah, they're selling now, just hard to find. The 250hp 6-speed is $26,680 and comes with 18" wheels and LSD standard. The 210hp automatic is $25,180.
 
i saw one on the road here in australia the other night and it wasnt a dealer car
 
specs:
RL-
177kw @ 8200rpm
211nm @ 5500rpm
gt3-
246hp @ 8500rpm
152(torque) @ 7500rpm

IRL the car seems to reach max torque at lower revs and max power higher...

Hmm...just wondering would Honda try anything against Mazda for the 'all too similar design'. :lol:

Heh - they were pretty close to each other at the Sydney Motor Show last year, they look nothing alike in real-life - the Mazda's a lot more 'bulbous'.

I think that you're talking about the conventional RX-8...not the mazdaspeed RX-8 pic posted in this thread...yep, the stock RX-8 doesn't look quite like the S2000.

I think that appearance-wise, the mazdaspeed looks much better than the S2000, and in turn, the S2000 puts the stock version to shame :)
