My computer has been acting up lately, overheating, and all the fans on this thing are going crazy. I figured I had some viruses. I ran a scan using Trend Micro, and it detected 147 "incidents". I got rid of most of them, but a few keep coming back no matter how hard I try to avoid them. Here is a list of the reoccurring "incidents"
›EXPL_ANICMOO.GEN
›TROJ_ANICMOO.AX
›XML_HACK.AO
So I look at the location of these files, and they're all temporary internet files. But, when I delete my temporary internet files, they just keep coming back. According to Trend Micro, they're "Quarantined" but they're still affecting my computer. The files themselves are called things like "file[1].ani" and "movie[1].qtl", and they just won't go away.

Any suggestions on how to finally rid my computer of all this crap? Programs to use? Anything? I need all the help I can get because I can't deal with this stupid ad ware and all the stupid pop-ups that minimize games and get in the way of things that I'm looking at.

Any help/ suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Yeah, providing you recently got these viruses, system restore will sort you out. If you don't know how long ago you got them, it's pretty useless unless you go back to when you installed your first program...

I've recently had a huge problem with spyware. I was clever enough to download something full of spyware (from a user called Adolf Hitler, would you believe...) and had a great time getting rid of it all...

First thing's first, Google the virus names and see what you get. If they're hard to remove, there'll probably be a load of other people trying to get rid of them too. BUT be very careful what you install to remove it, and certainly don't pay for their software until you've done enough research to prove that they're real virus scanners. Try and find software that's been proved to remove them.

Secondly, once you've downloaded these virus scanners, unplug your network/internet connection. The software will probably want to update, but if you found it by googling the virus names it should be able to remove them without downloading anything more. Why disable the internet? I'm no expert on viruses, but it seems sensible to stop the viruses being allowed to get onto your network or the internet (especially while you're removing them).

Now run the virus scanner(s) one at a time and see if you can remove them. If nothing works, try something different and repeat the process. Just make sure that only one scanner is running at a time. More than one and they start clashing and stop picking up viruses (don't ask me why, it says so for just about all of them).

Of course, I'm just suggesting stuff here, but hopefully it should help you a bit. Just remember to uninstall the programs you don't want after you've got rid of the viruses, or you'll end up with about 12 Virus scanners you don't want...

EDIT

Oh brilliant. The spyware that I thought had gone hasn't. Yay...
