Does anybody have any first hand experience with either model?
I'm interested in a self contained cockpit (needs to have a tv mount).

I haven't experienced either unit and its hard to drop that much $ without touching one let alone seeing one in person.

I would use this mostly with gt5 and possible iracing, right now im leaning towards the visionracer. What do you guys think?

I've had my VR3 for just over a year now and I'm still really pleased with it. Started of with just the rig and gear stick holder, then a few months down the line bought the LCD holder and a TV.

The service from Geoff (Visionracers main man) is nothing short of excellent.

I made some speaker stands from carbon fibre rods for a 5.1 setup with sub under the seat. I also made a box to sit it on so I can hide all the power cables/plugs etc etc.

I've also just added a 32" Sony Bravia which I picked up in the post xmas sales.

It should be GamePod GT2 Evo vs Rennsport Cockpit.

On that count, the Gamepod is better.

I have no experience with either but from what I've read and seen I would have to disagree - The Rennsport IMHO looks way better than the gamepod but then again it should as its over double the price.

Im not sure about that. The flex from the gamepod in ISR videos is a little worrying for that kind of price. Only seen one video of a Rennsport cockpit but it was rock solid.

If Rinoseat get their act together I'll be ordering a Meteor grey GTR to match my GT2. The unit looks great for the price and there's no way my fiancee's going to tolerate a Rennsport cockpit, she's had enough GT5/wheel talk this year already lol!

The reason for so much flex on the ISR video is partially because Darin has the wheel platform extended up quite high. It would be possible to modify this with a lateral cross section on the uprights when extended so high. However I know of some owners inc myself that use the Gamepod with the Fanatec table clamp. That allows a wheels angle to be adjusted as a bonus but also helps stable the platform with its extra weight.

VR3 seems to focus more on looks than anyhing else. I do still love the look of them. Just a pity it was limited in positioning and really only made with Logitech in mind. NoswaR that of yours does look great.

Renn Sport Cockpit is a bit over priced and the finish from what I seen could be better.
Bit more awkward looking to step into I always thought. Saying that any people that have them seem satisfied.

The Gamepod with the upcoming extras for the pedals looks to be one of the best and you get a proper Cobra Evo or Monaco race seat with them. The Evo seat these days alone with side mounting brackets and runners is close to £550 - £600.

jsl757 why is a Tv mount needed, could a wall bracket or TV stand not be used?
Maybe wait to see what ISR have to say on the Gamepod range and they do a screen mount as well as an extra but they seem expensive compared to go with a AV stand or Wall mount.

GamePOD has an AWESOME looking seat but I HATE the shifter position. The Rennsport looks awesome, especially with the triple monitor setup! I also love the VR3, that thing is just beautiful. If I had to choooooose... oh... Rennsport. I like the bigger, more boxed in look and feel, and the dual posts for monitor mounting seem way more stable.

theyre all overpriced in my opinion. someone needs to come up with something like the gamepod but using playseat materials. they will blow everyone out of the water if they can do that. the playseat is just annoying because the seat isnt great and the pole on the middle but its solid. if they could do a double pole setup and sell 2 version. one with and one without a seat and price it from $150-$200 without it would hard for the others not to lower there prices.

Gunstar, if you buy the BK mount, you can put the shifter in a similar position as of the Playseat.

The wobble will be fixed apparently as they are making a thicker bar or something.

Thanks for all the replies, I have a order in for the gt2/csp and I was also concerned if the wheel would be too high on the vr3.

I have checked out the gamepod but it doesn't have the right "look", since it will be in our house it has to pass the wife test.

noswaR - is the shifter pretty solid on your rig?

Mr. Latte - I'm not 100% set on the screen mount I can wall mount the screen but I just like the completed look of an all-in-one unit.

Right now, I'm still leaning towards the vr3. But the link from greekbull has me liking the rennsport a little more.

it is pretty nice. the thing i dont get is how ive never seen a complaint about the middle pole. that is the biggest you hear as a complaint for playseat evo. is it just placed better? i like that rennsport more tho

I have never seen that HumanRacing till now. That looks like a really sweet design. Wonder when it will hit the market and at what price?

not reli know how much is the humanracing cockpit, but sure it will cost about 20k hkd, that's about 2k pounds, something like that, and as i know, the humanracing cockpit had only made under 50 of them

I can personally vouch for the Vision race being a great cockpit. Light, Sturdy (not an oxymoron) and stylish. Perfect for racing imo.

reply stevisiov, but i reli feel that the pole of the vr3 between the legs are quite irretating and bloacking too

I also own a vision racer rig and find it excellent to use .

All i will say is that you will need to put additional padding in the seat for extended periods of use because after a few hours its like sitting on a bag of bricks.

Apart from that very happy

The other issue I have is when your adding peripherals (such as 5.1 or a new tv) You have to start taking it apart again to feed all the cables through the tubing (which is a pin in the a s s)

The bar between yours legs has never been an issue - its only around half an inch thick.
