Can you change visual stuff on the G27? Stuff like the steering wheel, shifter ball, and pedals. I'm going for the classic Muscle car look with it and would buy a Camaro steering wheel, chrome shifter ball, and Chevy pedals. So the question is, are real parts compatible with the G27 or with a little modification to the real parts to make them fit right?

I have seen Shifter knob mods, Carbon fiber wraps, Custom shifter paddles, Custom wheels via adapter. Mounting custom pedals should not be to hard if you even remotely handy, the G27 pedals are super easy to work with.

Looks like your project is a go! Can't wait to see some pics, if I were ever make cosmetic changes to my G27 the muscle car look is how I would go too.

Mods on the G27 are quite do-able. I've modded mine quite a bit. Here's some advice on what I've learned:

- Make sure the wheel is a light as possible. Increasing the diameter makes the motors work harder and feel weaker (you have more leverage), so adding a lot more weight amplifies the lessening effect of the motors. I recommend only aluminum wheels.

- You'll need longer paddles if you want to keep using them. Derek Spear makes great ones, I use them!

- For the authentic shifter mod, you should consider the TH8RS, it takes the shifting to another level. It is not as fast as the G27 shifter as it is longer, but the feel is awesome for big heavy cars. You lose all the buttons from the shifter, but there are work arounds for this...

- I would not recommend a heavy ball on the G27 shifter, top heavy with such a short throw is a recipe for abusing the mechanism (the shifter does not like being thrashed) and missing shifts. A heavy ball is hard to move quickly across the gate in a S-pattern.

- Adapting pedal pads will require a bit of DIY, but it is straightforward. I used a stack of washers for quite a while on some pedal pads.

Mod on!
