Boo-yah! I'm so happy that I got through the Vitz Pro...thanks to the help I got from this board about the settings and such. First three races fairly easy, the SSR 11 one was tough. Got my butt kicked all 6 times I tried it. Tweaked the settings from everything I read in the Vitz/Yaris writeup by Der Alta. But changed a little.

Camber (F/R) : 3.5/4.0
Toe (F/R) : 0.5/1.0

Gear Ratio : Auto Setting 15/ FINAL : 2.500

Ended up 16 secs behind on lap 3 (I'm not the cleanest of drivers), closed the gap to 12 secs by lap 5, all the AI cars pitted, I passed, got a 9 sec lead, and barely held on for the win. Not only is this frustrating as hell, but beating it does make you happy in the fact that you don't need to go through it ever again...hope this helps anyone that might still be having trouble.

Congratulations. In the end, I thought the Yaris (Vitz) Challenge to be one of the races I enjoyed more than others.. After all, you can't really cheat your way through that race since you can only drive the Yaris (Vitz).

Welcome to :gtp: greaxmin and Ving

Well Done on the :toyota: Vitz/Yaris Race greatmin :chkflag:....

I'd say that Series could really seperate the :gt: Men from the boys? Though I wouldn't be saying that if I hadn't completed it... (absolutely no offense to anyone who hasn't done it, it's just a saying, but you'll do it one day :star: )

Streetracer you really should give it a go? :chkflag: I'm sure you'd get it done with the right settings and tyres? :burnout:

Man I hate races with TO SLOW cars that's why I dind't try it yet......hehehe

BTW Congratulations(<<<---- did I wrighte that the right way?)

thanks for the mention Greaxmin. I'm glad to know that my write-ups (as well as eveyrbody else's worked out).

The note about the camber, was well worth it. I did very little tweaking on that car other than boosting all the available mods.

AlexY2K: True, this race does separate classes of people in the game. I had to chug a pot of coffee to make it through the test course...that's one I don't plan on repeating.

Viper freak: you did indeed spell Congratulations correctly, but miffed the "Wrighte" spelling. "Write". Of course, I've been accused of typing with gloves on.

good luck on the rest of the game Greaxmin.

This series was definitely a challenge. If you are working your way through the game at all like I am, you're probably getting used to some pretty fast action and some pretty high caliber cars when you get to the Pro Vitz challenge. It is quite an adjustment to drive the underpowered FF Vitz.

The first time through the series, I absolutely could not win at SS11II. Not even close, really. I put the series aside with all golds and one 6th place finish. I ran some other races and experimented with other FF cars. Last week, I went back to the Vitz race to clean up SS11II. I took first place by 25 seconds! I guess it was just a matter of rethinking my approach and driving style.

Good luck and welcome!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I've had the game and my PS2 for almost a year, but I never really got into the game. I was sitting at 10% complete for the longest time, but then I just went to work at it after I finished GTA3. After about 3 weeks, I'm sitting at 42%, figured I'd do the Vitz race before I got any F1 cars, otherwise I'd probably end up not doing them at all...still need to clean up my driving though, I'm pretty inconsistent, but I'm getting there...

i'd pay someone $20 to go though the Vitz Pro and not feel like they've been to hell and back. I also agree with Rumple completely. This race is the worst thing on this planet and maybe the universe. I've done it at least 10 times (still haven't won) and now just looking at a vitz makes me want to vomit :banghead:

Good call... I think most of us here would share your sentiments. :)

got plenty of credits atm, so i might give this race a lash :D

No problem Ving, best of luck .... remember to have a look for the previous threads with the best settings? :smilewink

Does anyone have them at hand for Ving?

Mostly important is you Gear Ratios :burnout:

I do have these settings to go on. And these are very basic settings. I ran this before I really started tweking hte cars to gain maximum performance

Check this thread out. It's the one that Greaxmin mentioned.

Vitz Pro - Write up

There's a good amount of info.

As I look back at this write-up, it doesn't seem like it's that hard. I'm more worried about the Elise Trophy. Partly because I'm going to attempt it in the 190, not the Motor sport elise. Is there anyone out there who has managed this feat?

I hate this race, but it does improve your skill greatly.

I equiped my pink vitz with golder rims :D with all the possible turbos and other engine mods. My strategy was not to pit, thus, I put on the super-slicks. I found it very useful to turn of the computerized control (Traction and Stability Management). This way, the Vitz did much better on corners.

It took me 2 days to beat the whole challange (golds in all five races, obviously). Not that bad, considering I play for only about 2-3 hours a day (I heard there are people who play up to 8 hours non stop!!!!!!!) .

This is a tough race as Ive tried but quit while staying in third place. Im just not that good of a driver yet. ;)
Ill eventually get the nads to do it all the way to the end and sacrifice my 84% win ratio for the finish of the race. ;) :D

It is the most boring series, but I wouldn't go that far.;)

Well I must confess that when I first did the series I used the Motor Sport :lotus: Elise, but may go back with a 190 for a good challenge :D

To be even more challenging we could try no tuning or setting changes? :smilewink

AlexY2K:

I'd love to be able to run the Elise challenge in an unmodded Elise 190, but I think that the MS Elise is just too much. I'm going to attempt it with as little cash spent as possible though.

As for setting changes, I've got to be able to at least turn off ASM & TCS.

We'll see...

Not only that, but out of that 207 at least 183 are just "cool"...

Maybe now that he's over the magic number he will start to think more about quality and less about quantity.
