Lemme say this: The game looks MUCH more interesting than the dumb TV show. (Put out by 4Kids, who are also often lambasted for their heavily hacked-up Animes)

Funny you mention the show. We saw the trailers and gameplay for this and never even knew the show existed. (probably because we dont have kids) Last week sunday Heather was flipping through the channels and sure enough Viva Pinata was on. She was so excited she went to the garage to get me. Then we watched about 5 minutes and instantly changed the channel. The show is terrible but the game will be a must buy for Heather and I. 👍
The only bad thing is it comes out when GOW and Call of Duty 3 come out. Going to be rough financially the next few weeks. A lot of good games coming out.

The demo came out for this yesterday. By the time it was finished downloading Heather and I had to go to bed so we didnt get to try it out. I will check it out tonight for sure.

Camero are you sure you’re really well, because I thought you would not be the type of person, to download a demo like this. But thinking about it now, maybe you downloaded it, because you’re looking to have children soon lol.

Why not? Have you watched any of the videos in the first post? This game looks great! Its a lot like an RTS and I love RTS games. This is a must buy for us. 👍
I am open minded to any game on any system as long as its fun. :dopey:
This looks as colorful as Kameo which was another great game. Did you even read my first post?

But doesn't the game, which looks like a children’s game put you off sometimes.

No it doesnt put me off at all. Like I said. Watch the videos in the first post or at least read my first post. I like games like roller coaster tycoon, Black and white 2, and zoo tycoon so this game is perfect and it is extremely colorful. I just finished playing Open Season and that game was fun too.
BTW that demo isnt a demo its just a video showing some characters.

Why do colourful shapes and imaginative imagery have to be 'kiddie' oriented? It makes for a very attractive graphical spectacle and I'll probably lok at buying it and I'm not an RTS fan per se either.

Finally picking this up after work tonight. Heather will be playing tonight but hopefully I get a chance to play it real soon.

I watched Heather play this for about 2 hours last night and it looks real fun. Its a mix between zoo tycoon, roller coaster tycoon, and sims. It is definetly a game I would enjoy. I will try to play it any chance I get when she is not playing it. She was able to unlock 4 achievements too. However she had a dying or sick bad pinata and couldnt figure out how to get rid of it. The whining noise got quite annoying after a while too but she tried several things and it just stayed there.

I would say this is definetly a great game to buy and the case is very cool. I also wonder if Rare will release some sort of co-op for this like they did for Kameo and (Perfect Dark Zero) PDZ. We still need to check out PDZ some time. I heard its pretty good and if we can play as a co-op that would make it even more fun.

Heather is 22 and has been enjoying this since monday. I am 29 and I finally had a chance to put a solid 3 hours into Viva Pinata last night. To my surprise it is actually really fast paced and you have to pay attention to everything and every Pinata. Each one has specific needs and interrests. If they arent happy then they wont perform the way you want. ITs the same with your garden. If its not made the way the pinatas want then they will leave or they might not ever show up. Most of my night was experimenting with different seeds, plants, landscape to see what I would attract. Its really overwhelming at times how much you can do in this game. That is a good thing. They did a great job with this and I highly recommend it to anyone that likes Sims, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, or Age of Empires 3. [:D]

I was extremely excited when my garden increased because I was seriously running out of space for anything. Now I can make some changes to my garden to utilize more space. This is how far I got in 3 hours.

Viva Pinata

Land Owner: Garden size increased once

Talent: Player has reached Level 10

Green Fingers: Grown 5 plants to maturity

This is just a small garden I made tonight for some quick pics.
Colorful combination of flowers

$75,000 value Bird of Paradise plants.

Corn and sunflowers

those look awesome, must have taken you forever to do them 👍
Thank you. That garden took me a couple hours. I also started a water garden thats taking several hours. I will try to get more pics up over the weekend to keep this thread alive. You should get some pics of your garden some time. I have 6 different gardens right now.

I just picked this game up yesterday for $30 and so far I'm loving it. It's a very fun and relaxing game. Great way to waste time :)

Are they finally using the standard game case instead of the special crap they used to do?

I originally bought it and traded it in (because I couldn't get into it before), but I'd like to buy it again – just in a regular case and not the SE box so I don't have to sift through a crapload of stuff to get to the disc.

Yeah me too. Too bad they don't use it anymore. I would have loved to have it. I should have picked this game up when it first game out. It's seriously good and has tons of replay value. Plus once you get enough money, you can just flatten everything and make a whole new garden :D

You dont even need to wait until you have money. YOu can make as many gardens as you want right from the beginning of the game. I had a couple gardesn running at the same time to make money. Total I had over 8 gardens. All of your money from each garden all goes to the same money pot. I made some for money, some for mining, some for special animals (pinatas), and some that just looked pretty. I never did end up taking pics of all of them. No one on this site seemed to care much so I just never posted the pics besides the ones in post #14.

When you get far enough in the game you can hire miners to find gems and other goodies including one of the largest secrets in the game.

Oh! I never knew you can make multiple gardens to make money! Does experience cross over too? And the Pinatas you reside??

I need a break for playing this game for nearly 15 hours in 2 days, so I would find out.

Overall, VERY addictive game. I just get problems when the gardens get tightly packed with Pinata, so they all fight each other. But every time the space increases, that disappears. It's just becoming incredibly demanding to gain experience now. I'm level 29 the last time I checked, and a garden's value of 42,000 coins.

Yes the money and experience crosses over from each garden you have. I was playing VP again about a week ago on Heathers 360 while my driver was doing endurance races in Forza 2 on my 360. A real easy way to make money is by plating the Bird of Paradise seeds then fertilize them 3 times each with orange fertilizer. Then sell them once they are fully grown. One of the gardens I had was worth over $75,000 just from these plants. I have a picture above of it in post #14.
