Voice recognition in games.

Another idea that could come to fruition maybe.Helps in arcade shoot em up games, if you need to reload.Leaves all buttons free for other things.

Personally, no. It would take too much memory on the disk for things that really matter. Pushing a button isn't that much work at all.

Tom Clancy's End War an RTS did this with its control scheme to solve the problem of unit selection in consoles, which seemed like an interesting solution, but it didn't work that well because there were moments in which you control many units and that made the task of selecting several units and groups very stressing for your vocal cords (however the commands recognition worked terribly nice on the 360 head set).

As far as FPSs and stuff like that, I don't think it helps, there is nothing more simple that pressing a button, besides I don't find much applications for it, maybe for a kinect game but kinect has much use as a pen without ink.

The voice recognition itself was great on EndWar, it always recognised my speech without fail. It's pretty pointless in FPS games in my opinion but i'd love to see it in racing games such as NASCAR and F1.

Telling your Crew Chief/Race Engineer what type and amount of tires and fuel you want prior to a pit stop would be brilliant. Or asking your spotter pre-prepared questions in a NASCAR race.
