I don't know if it's been asked before (a quick Google search yields no results) but I just don't see the point of the Schwimmwagen. I mean, it's not like there's a specific one-make race for it or any tracks where it excels. Is this amphibious car good for a certain track/driving style or is it just for kicks?

Just for kicks, what's wrong with that?

I don't know; I just see cars as having a certain task they were built to do. Like the race cars were built for racing, tuner cars were built for drifting, and road cars are all purpose. But the Schwimmwagen was built for driving through water, something you can't do in GT5.

Nothing against the car, just curious :)

So what's the Tank Car's purpose, then?

Burnouts :sly:

Seriously, give it an oil change (and leave the stock tires on) disable the traction control, come to a complete stop and then floor it.

In my opinion, it is one of the most fun cars in the game, because it's german, old, and amphibious

I'm gonna buy it today just to see if I can get it to do wheelies and stoppies like that video shows :sly:

Nearly all production cars in the real world are made for money, so should we only be allowed to sell them in the game?

Cars are in the game for more than their original intent.

I like to drive mine at the 400pp race at Autumn Ring Mini on ss tires. The Kubelwagen does the job there too.
I painted my Schwimmwagen Chameleon Blue to make it more stealthy..👍

Some cars are in the game because of their significance, or just for kicks. Not every car in the world has a point, you know.

Fully tuned it and drove it on the Eiger Nordwand K trail. I got stuck. It couldn't get up the mountain, even though I was flooring it. Hilarious. I love it already.

Then I don't see the point of having cars without racing numbers in the game.

Let me guess, you're barely 18 and only like cars that shoots blue fire out of the exaust and all cars that have less than 800hp should be deleted ?

Anyways, I enjoy every single car in the game, and I'm having LOADS of fun with many standard cars (stock of course).

X1 is not a car, so I don't even bother with it and last time I touched a Veyron, the year was early 2011.

I only have three cars that have over 800 HP. I actually don't like super powerful cars like the FGT; unless the traction control is set to 10 I can't drive it without spinning out.

I just didn't see the point of an amphibious WWII era military vehicle in a racing game like this :dunce:

Plus the main reason I started this thread was to find out if the Schwimmwagen had any hidden superpowers :sly:

I use a lightly tuned Honda CR-Z for 400PP races on racing soft tires. 👍

Pert of it is that PD didn't finish the game... all of the cars were supposed to be Premium, and some concept cars and interesting old or custom cars (like the Kubelwagens, Schwimmwagens, Tank Car, Furai, etc.) were just going to be "spice", per say.

And quote: "Plus the main reason I started this thread was to find out if the Schwimmwagen had any hidden superpowers" - It was the power to get stuck on most hills.

And entertain the drag community.

I've yet to try this "car". I hope it's decent on dirt/snow tracks.

Tell me about it! Couldn't make it uphill on Eiger Nordwand's K or W trail. It's odd though, it has more torque than HP and it still couldn't make it. Oh well. That's what the Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione is for 👍
