After creating the V3 Prototypes in 1936, Ferdinand Porsche designed the next iteration of the VW Beetle, the V30. Daimler was ordered to produce the V30s for the SS to test. The vehicle got the name V30 because 30 were built. Mechanically, these cars were very similar to the VW 38 series of 1938. Stylistically however, they were very different. Unlike the split rear window in the VW's final design, the V30 had no rear window but rather a glass pane in the cabin and you were able to see out the back throught the cooling vents. The car also was very aerodynamic and art deco looking.
Unfortunatly, the V30 prototypes were destroyed but there are rumors that a few were untouched. There was an original V30 frame found so it is very possible that a complete one exists. However, there have been a few V30 recreations made with KDF era VW parts.
The VW V30 featured a 985cc aircooled flat 4 engine that produced 23.5HP.
I think this car would fit well with the 40s Kubelwagen and Schwimmwagen in GT.
