The Volvo Concept Coupe is a concept car first revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013. The concept car is based on Volvo's new platform Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) which will provide the technical foundation for all future Volvo models.

The car is designed by Volvo's head of design Thomas Ingenlath taking inspiration from the Volvo P1800 of the 1960s. Thomas Ingenlath explains: “It is a car designer’s duty to reflect and incorporate design signatures that are vital parts of the company’s heritage. The P1800 is an iconic Volvo, renowned for its beautiful forms and detailing. However, using elements from the P1800 exterior and interior has nothing to do with being retro. We are using these subtle links to a glorious past to create a future where sheer beauty becomes a recognised part of Volvo’s identity. That journey starts with Concept Coupé.”

The 2-seater (there are also two seat-shaped moldings at the back, but I doubt any adult could fit in there) interior has a more futuristic feel to it. Highlights include a raft of handcrafted elements such as the leather instrument panel and inlays made of naturally aged wood, as well as large portrait touch-screen in the center console.

A plug-in power unit packs rear-mounted Li-ion batteries and a dedicated rear axle electric drive. The front wheels are motivated by a 2.0-liter turbo and supercharged — yes, both! — four-cylinder, part of the same (heavily) modified next-gen Evoque engine that traces its roots to Ford. The 400 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of combined power output are amazing, and should give this VCC a projected 100 km/h sprint time of around 5 seconds before ultimately hitting a projected 275 km/h top speed.

How was this not suggested before? :dopey:

One of the few Volvo's I'd actually want to have in a video game (don't get me wrong, Volvo is cool IRL but in video game I'd rather use other vehicles). 👍
