Though that can be attributed to a lot of the younger workforce growing up during the dot-com bubble, and being told that IT was where the big money was (before computers became ubiquitous and greatly simplified). The recent AI/autonomy hoopla hasn't helped on that front either, as now everyone thinks they'll be in a nice office monitoring the trucks driving themselves around, while ignoring the reality that fully autonomous vehicles are still at least a couple decades away from being viable and much farther away from being commonplace.
