I never made a topic and i said "why not" and don´t care if posted already or not or even discussed here. If it dies fast don´t care either. (Clear enough? lol)

Well i found this on You Tube and had to test it and yes it is just like that. Is that right? Are those cars so different and the '66 version is so unstable as the real life counterpart? (the Brazilian guy who made this video is asking the same thing)

My grandpa had one of those and i know that the speed in the game is correct and the acceleration but i never saw it going at high speeds in a curve just to say if this is realistic or not. Also the car at 120 km/h taking a curve of course i going to loose control and maybe make this but, why not the old version?

Discuss. (again if already posted lol:dopey:)

P.S: i failed to insert the video here someone show me how please!

Oh and i found this one modified. In Brazil some people put V8´s on the Beetle. lol

The old version is far less powerful when fully tuned but I've never had those issues seen in that video, looks to me like a wrong set up (it really needs a soft suspension) combined with the wrong tyres (I'm guessing Racing Soft whilst Sports Medium or less is more suitable and enjoyable).
Also the car doesn't need a chassis reinforcement so lack of flex might be another explanation.

Paused at 38 seconds - he's running the Racing Softs. No matter what you do with the rest of the car's settings it will roll over with these tyres. I've tried tuning it out but it isn't possible. More unrealistic physics from PD, all the car's weight is far too low to the ground for it to roll over simply from having too much grip. Need I mention Porsche to make this point any clearer?

The standard version has a problem common to most other cars in GT5 (especially Standard ones) a too low center of gravity, which might actually be a deliberate move by PD so cars don't roll over with street tires as they would in real life.

But even on Premium cars, it usually takes too much effort to roll over them when it's actually very easy in certain situations, especially with older cars which typically had very soft suspensions with odd geometry, high profile tires and weak chassis. There are issues with tires and suspension modeling in the game.

A popular vintage video showing what can never happen in GT5 with street tires (comfort tires to sports hard). Several VW Beetles can be seen:

Wow, hadn't ever seen that video before. Thanks for sharing Shirakawa.

They were track driving without seatbelts? And in convertibles with passengers? I'm surprised humanity didn't go extinct in 1970.

Especially nice how they pushed a rolled over car back on its wheels with a woman still hanging half way out through the windshield of the car.

Very nice video and explanation. And yes, i know this already. I always mention that in GT5 the simulated "gravity force" and the "frictional force" are exaggerated and you can see that when you try to roll over a car (we can call it "gravity stability" or the external downforce that react in the car) and the frictional force works wrong too in some situations as for example when you put a car in one of the curves from Route X and stop the car you can see that it starts to slide over the surface.

This is not too complicated to fix but it is just to balance the overall physics + FFB in the wheel. They need to check this again and change values and then make a balance between car setups and behaviours. I think PD needs more testers for the game in that case.

Also we saw some changes from the release game to the 2.0 that many find bad and some good.

But we can say that it is working wrong specially in some cars if not all.

the ae86 sprinter trueno ss version has the same problem, but yet a 820hp 70 charger won't do a wheelie. theres countless little quirks in gt5. but on the beatle at least you can play herbie.

WOW did you see that convertible beetle with 4 people in it almost roll? that would have been 4 ****ing dead people.. wow

There where no seat belts in those days.
So if the convertible would roll they would probably get catapulted out of the car so they might get lucky and survive

Till the car roll over toward you and crush you before you regain your composure.
