I know this isn't my thread but in response to your question...

Generally, yes.

i'll agree with you vinsion

though i do think this idea has its merits (well, a few ;) )

a lot of members here dont have video capture equipment, so a team based only on photos might be enjoyable for them. It just gives them some sort of group to associate with, and learn from.

I will agree that you can learn and judge more from a video, but a clip show of pictures on a closely spaced timeline can give some indication of how an individual drifts.

It might be an interesting concept for people to try out, just to see what comes from it.

btw, this doesnt mean im interested in becoming a member :sly:
I'm just encouraging the plan. I'm quite curious to see what you guys would actually do.

well see i dont know how to get videos from my ps2 to the comp.....thats why i dont want to start a team....but i could...anway...whats the photo mode thread?

Photomode Drift Photos

it's really not that tough to find.... it tends to live on the first page, and the stickies contain links to it..... :p

oh, and while i'm at it:

welcome to the forums,
please take the time to read the stickied threads and familiarize yourself with the search button...and such

i'd enter, but if we gonna have teams, we gonna need ALOT of people to enter?

yeah what he said..... but i dont think ALOT of people need to be selected, The best of the best should I say?

Also i dont know this could be taking it too far, but the other gt4 forums have drift teams.......now this would strictly be for fun, and could bring alot of new members in, But the "drift team" to be assembled, could challenge other "drift teams" from other forums? Strictly for fun and bragging rights.......The elite GT4 forum?

Like i said, i could be thinking a little too deep on this one, but it sounds kinda fun? :scared:

I see no need for inner forum rivalry or competiton in the form of teams

oh theres a few drift teams lurking around here :) i dont know if theyve ever competed against other teams from other forums though.

Like I said before, photos don't show skill, you can take the picture during a spin or a slide.

no, but if someone wants to take pictures of screw-ups that look like good drifts, just to appear cool to us here, then that person really has no life.

i never met any of you... i have no reason to go around bs-ing how i'm the drift king... i can drift fairly well, but i have no desire (and i think most people dont either) to go around bs-ing how i'm the best drifter ever.

how do i play online? do i need a seperate modem for the ps2? or what the hell is going on?

why are you asking that here??? :odd:

found this in the main forum with the search button

...i gotta stop answering off topic queries like this...if the asker gets what they're looking for by doing so, they're gonna keep doing it....

I think that that's a good idea, or just say that it doesn't belong here, but don't post a link to it, they must learn to search at some point, why not now? I'm getting annoyed by these posts.......and also from my own posts, but I hope newbs. get a BIT scared now for some reason, so that they might just CONSIDER that search button over a stupid post........

arg, back to topic> I think a drift photo team is good, but if it are just random pics you can also see in the drift competitions, then there's no point to this

Um i dont think you can play this game online. What do you need to send a pic to your computer? Because i have a SanDisk thing with a USB connection, i use it with my digital cam to send the pics to my computer. That dosent seem to work when i plug it into the PS2 it says theres nothing in the USB port when there is, do i need to by a different SanDisk or a special PS2 one???! :grumpy:

(ok, new strategy)

what you need to do is check around in the gt4 photo and video subforum and ask your question there if searching doesnt work
thats what you need to do

this type of thing has been answered countless times, and honestly its becoming a bit tiresome....

and for the record, yes, you can play over a network if you have the required additional hardware - did you not notice the network play section in the options menu, or read even the first post of the link i pinned up? hrm, guess not

Hey the whole photomode drift team is a change from the video drift teams, although its not as exciting as watching a car in drift, still shots are still a good concept and a great idea for gt4 fans who are browsing to use some of the shots as wall papers or study the shot for corner entry or wat not, not that i think there is alot you can pic up from a pic. Im thinking bout joining when i get my copy of GT4 back ill take some decent pics. I only have a couple of my blitz er34 and the z31 300zx.

I was thinking, Has anyone ever seen skate shots in a skateboarding magazine? Well if you havent alot of the magazines (BMX mags also) have sequential shots of the skateboarder (or BMX rider) doing a trick and i was thinking it would be a good idea to do this kind of photoshooting in gt4...like take a series of fotos thru a drift.

I dunno wat you guys will think but its an idea.

For the cost of the D1 cars you can build your own for cheaper....but whatever floats your boat.
