If you are looking for a tough b-spec challenge to beat, try racing the Peugeot 206 Cup using a 206RC.

The best opposing car is a 206RC too, but for some reason it appears unbeatable in B-spec, even with a fully upgraded car and over 7000 B-spec points - this is most evident on the 2nd to last race where even after I gain first position the lead competing car was able to outperform mine.

If you succeed and feel generous please go to the thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=66461 and post your settings and technique, since yesterday a lot of people read the thread (looking for settings I suspect) but no one had an answer.

i beat this, but it took alot of time, it was simular to that of the opel speedster races... kinda hard, but raise the bspec skills and manage your car with a good tune aswell and you will win it.

i belive i didnt beat it at first because i was playing all the races with NO horse power added at all... so i added on some simple power things after doing full tune and softer tires. downforce added too.

i eventually beat it, but you need a higher bspec level with a nice car and setup... PLUS you need to manage your car through the track using the differnt speed indicators, and when allowed to, turn off overtake for your drive to race a better line on tricky turns especially.

I already did most of what you indicate and no luck. Of course, Athena (my driver) is not at 10000 points yet, and I still need to find the proper settings for the car.

ok, i started this game with very little points, and all i had to do was raise it a bit.

what is your skill levels? (NOT YOUR POINTS, you SKILLS!!!!) if you have 6 or 7000 points that doesnt help, because mabe you have 99machine points and like 30 battle points. those battle points are esential especially for this race.

so what is the points you have for each skill? goto the garage, select "STATUS" and remember those values.
they are...
Machine Skill
Course Skill
Battle Skill

each skill needs to be at a good score... i would have to say you dont need over 80 in each field to beat this game without problems. so no need to get 100 for each skill.
some people can do it with lower, its all about managing your driver... read the tutorial on www.gamefaqs.com that i wrote about it... it will help you manage your driver THROUGH the courses by lowering the number on turns so he is more controled. turning off over take will also make a better driving line for your driver too.

a proper tune is needed but bspec skills when raised to a good point can do it with a little tune.

Why not just race it in A-spec? If I want a b-spec challenge I'll just take a car to family cup and put the difficulty on 10....but why would I have b-spec drive unless it's something long and boring with lots of money at the end? If the race is a challenge I'll do it in a-spec :D

Agreed! "B-spec" and "challenge" are terms that directly contradict one another. Want a real challenge?? Try getting 200pts on the Nordschleife race of Legends of Silver Arrow. Or Misson 34, but that's more obvious.

Snooks, some people enjoy B-spec, others just want to train their drivers for the mindless races, others yet, like me, run every series in both A-spec and B-spec, to make the game more interesting.

Oath, I think I see the light. If 80 points is needed I have to improve my course and battle skill. B-spec=7149, Machine=82, Course=71, Battle=70.

Separate from that, any suggestions about the best settings for the various adjustable components? The only ones I adjusted were optimizing the racing tires (Front=Hard, Rear=Super-Soft) and lowering the ride height from 133 to 115 (on a 99-180 range).

When I successfully beat this in B-spec I will record all the settings in the tuning part of the forum, for future use.

you should be able to beat it with those bspec score settings, mabe your not activly managing your driver on the courses.. anyways, i will try and look for my settings i used... not sure if i still have it written down or not, but i will try.

lower the Spring rate a few ticks
lower ride hight to within 10 to 20 ticks from lowest possible setting (to low will mess with things like sparks etc)
spring bound 3(or 4)/4(or 5)
rebound 7/8
camber 2.8/1.9
toe 0/0
stiffness 6/3 (depends on driving style)

LSD 10/30/6 (depends on driving style)

brakes 3/3

downforce should be full

this should help but its not a definat tune. try it out see if its better... i will see what my settings are later when i get a chance.

you should be able to beat it with those bspec score settings,
When I originally posted I was using default settings and could not beat in A or B spec.

I since got settings similar to yours and managed to beat the full series on A-spec, beat the 1st race in B-spec, and do reasonably well but not good enough in B-spec.

If you follow the link at the beginning of the thread you should see a detailed description of the settings and results.

BTW, somebody once mentioned that to beat this series fully in B-spec you need at least 80 for course and battle skill. I don't know if that is correct but from the behavior in the Cote D'Azur and one or two other tracks I am tempted to agree. Athena (my driver) was a :dunce: in that race.
