Unlike GT4 which had two mustangs, GT5 should try to include the following cars:

Any Mustang GT 5.0 from 1979-1993
1970 Boss 429 Mustang
2004 Mustang SVT Cobra
1969 Mustang Mach 1
1967 Mustang Fastback
1967 Shelby GT 500

Any of these would be nice in GT5... But mainly any 79-93 Mustang GT 5.0

There was actually 3 mustangs: the Cobra SVT, the new Mustang, and the GT350.

But I agree. If Japan can have 50+ Skylines, then America deserves more Mustangs, or any other muscle car in that era.

Duck

Yeah wouldnt mind some more mustangs and other American V8's.

Would like some more Skylines also :D.

Let's not forget the SVO, the car that proved you don't need 8 cylinders (or even 6) to have fun with a 'Stang.

I remember German_Muscle asking somebody to add some fox bodies to the GT5 wishlist, so I did:
Ford Mustang 20th anv. GT350 '84
Ford Mustang '85 (4cyl turbo)
Ford Mustang 5.0 GT '87
Ford Mustang Cobra '93
I don't remember the research I did to pick those years, but I believe they're all the last/only or most powerfull years.
and others:
Mustang Boss 429 Super Cobra Jet '70
Mustang Mach III '93 (Concept)
Mustang Boss 10.0L '94 (Concept)
Mustang GT-R '5 (Concept)

i'm glad you all agree. Yep, I forgot the 2000 Cobra R. I remember GT2 had various mustangs.(more than GT3 and GT4). Any car of the Foxbody years
('79-'93) should be added to GT5. If GT4 had and Iroc Camaro, they could have had a fox mustang. I guess I would really lke to see a 1993 Ford Mustang Cobra
in GT5. Anyway, thanks for all your input.

Those 1979-1993 GTs are nice, what about the 5 liter LX cars? The LX notchback, or "trunkie" if you will, is the lightest 5L Mustang and for years assorted states picked it to be their highway patrol vehicle (California, Colorado, and Florida come to mind off the top of my head). I think the notchback chassis is also less prone to flexing.

The LX hatchback is the one Steve Saleen chose to modify. It is the second lightest 5L Mustang and has the best aerodynamic properties of the group. It doesn't get the rigidity of the notchback but its top speed is higher because it doesn't disturb the airflow over the back of the car the same way the notchback does. The GT has extra polyurethane body panels that increase drag.

The GTs are cool cars and I'd still like to have them make the game. From a real-life purchasing stand point, I'd buy an LX over a GT. I'd save money when I tell my insurance company I have an LX and not the GT, I still get the 5L V-8, and the car can be more of a sleeper (aside from the exhaust burble).

Yeah, the notchback is the best of the foxes. If one showed up in the game, that would be the coolest thing ever. But like an '87 and later because those had the MAF.

What in the world are you talking about?

the LX notch is by far the coolest of the fox bodies...IMO
I like em all but I'd take a 5.0 notch... :)
As for your 92 GT beating an Lx notch, Stock for Stock It would be a drivers race... and I'd give the lighter notch the advantage....

Back on topic, Yeah we need more stangs in GT5!!!!!
I would love to see a 93GT, cobra and cobra r Also a 95 GT,Cobra and the R model as well... same with the 99-04's a GT, 01 Cobra and the 03-04 cobra toss in an 04mach 1 also :) and a few other foxes in ther for fun... a saleen or two an SVO I could go on and on..... But then ther'd be too many stangs and I wouldnt be able to make up my mind...lol..... Plus there would be new models to put in by then....

id definately like to see what a '03-'04 cobra can do in gt5. (most people dont know it can handle pretty well)
it should be the best dollar-mod car.

anybody see that episode of horsepower tv?
they dyno'd a cobra stock at 364RWHP.
programmer: 43hp!

UHM!
03/04 Cobra can put down 370-385 rwhp stock...
depends on the dyno
with simple bolts ons like CAI, exhaust, air filter, synthetic oil
you can get 425 rwhp very easily.
And jsut swapping the blower for a Kenne Belle 2.4l blower with those bolt ons so the blower can breathe, you have 650+ rwhp and you only spent maby $6000.
And thats with it all installed and tuned...
To mustangs have always been like this so it should be no surprise....

Yeah, What are you saying?... I was just stating that my GT only makes 261hp and 301 ftlbs to the wheels......and its not stock....lol
The Cobra's make crazy rwhp #'s stock, and I am jelous..lol that is all.....

GTrackd02 your right, it was an 1/8 of a mile, and on the other 5.0 it was a 1/4 mile run. My mistake. Sorry about that. The post is fixed now. Anyway, since you do have a mustang, what's your ET with your '02?

My car:...lol....its slow...

I have ran a best of 13.37@ 104.3 with a 2.1xx 60 foot time...
I have an NX wet kit for the car that should put it in the low 12's but I was told an 11.99 wouldnt be out of the question.... I doubt it though.... I am thinkin 12.2's
Thats plenty of car for me..lol

Sounds like fun. My friend eventually wants to put a 351 Cleveland into one of his '68 Mustangs. With the pieces he's thinking of, the guys on the Ford-natics list say he could hit mid-11s with it. Not that he's interested in straight line performance, though he does like having a lot of torque available under his right foot, he's more interested in road course type racing. My friend currently races with NASA and the SCCA. He's got two first generation RX-7s. One is built for NASA Pro-7 regulations, the other is more aligned for SCCA ITA competition.

Oh, and to those who don't know better, it's not a "NOS kit," though I'm sure Holley thanks you for the advertising. If you're going to put N and O together, write it like this, N²O. That's how Nitrous Oxide is written in element form. GTrackd02 bought a Nitrous Express kit, there is a difference.
