All you have to do is register his account under a new user on your xmb. Each PSN account is allowed to be registered on up to 5 PS3's. Once you do that just sign in under your friends account, go to the psn store and click on the downloads button.

ONLY DO THIS with very good friends that you know organticly

Well since gt5 seems to be copy protected figured the dlc may be like the videos where you can only activate it one one. Retorical Stephen good sir, I am sorry.

I know about account sharing (which is technically against Sony's Terms of Service so let's be careful here...) but was unaware it worked with the DLC cars. Shame I don't know anyone with them.

Do you know if the cars would still be available after deleting your friend's PSN account from your console? Some downloaded items get deactivated.

It's not against Sony's policy at all, in fact Phil Harrison said at the time this share between 5 consoles thing was announced that they'd rather one person bought a game and five people played it than one buy it and only one play it.

As for them being available after deleting a friends account I'm pretty sure the answer is no. With a PSN game on your console it will tell you who the owner is when you go into the files information, if that person no longer has a valid account on your console their PSN downloads are deactivated. I'd guess this is the same for DLC as well as games.

Yeah I remember that. It seems however, that little evidence exists to back that quote up. Regardless, the Terms of Service specifically prohibit sharing your password and account details.

You're technically not sharing it if you set it up on your friends console yourself. It's pretty much a grey area.

As for evidence of it, I suppose you won't know for sure unless you ask the man himself but seen as the feature has been there for years I doubt Sony have a problem with it or even care about it.

True. I do it too so I'm not trying to take the moral high ground or anything, just saying it as I know it.

The only thing I can say is if Sony didn't like it they would stop it, in my opinion it was a good marketing ploy at the time the ps3 was released and Microsoft had a year head start on them.

I know that after doing the birthday glitch (once! :)), and loading the game up, my 2 stealth cars were availible to use and well as the chromeline jag. It seems a shame that they are going to waste..

So you can buy them on the PSN marketplace or whatever it's called. I've never used a PS3 so i wouldn't know

No, they were given away as redeemable codes to people who either pre-ordered GT5 through certain retailers or people who bought the various limited editions of the game. However they work the same way as any DLC i.e they're downloaded through Playstation store and show up on your download list.

And how would you manage to buy DLC cars that aren't for sale?

You would of realised this before the game was released. And thought It's either worth the money for signature edition ect with extra cars or not and not worried about those extra cars.
Now signature edition sells on e-bay for £200+ and the cars separately are silly money.
There are plenty more fast cars In GT5 equal in performance to dlc cars so I presume you just want the cars for there looks.

Honestly, was there actually a point to that first paragraph? I'll ask again, how can you buy DLC cars that are not for sale? Simple question.

Not myself actually, I have the stealth cars in question. However I've also let a few of my friends download them from my PSN account.

Ok the simple answer to your simple question Is. If something Is not for sale you can't buy It.

Another useless paragraph would be your breaking the terms & conditions of PSN section 4 of a PSN voucher.

Read further up to my previous posts in this thread and you'll see that's not the case.

I've read the whole thread. You can't buy the cars. Any other way Is a breach of terms & conditions.
It's people manipulating loop holes that gets game saves, Cars locked to PSN Id's ect ect. The more people abuse things the tougher things will get In the future.

Its Now against Tos, They updated it couple of months ago, because lots of people were sharing PSN+ stuff.

It's not manipulating loopholes! Sony put the feature there themselves.

You must keep your password and other account details secret (other than your Online ID),and not share them with anyone else, to prevent unauthorised use of your Sony Online Services account. If you share account details with someone who uses your account in breach of these Conditions or we believe that your account has been compromised, your account and/or access to Sony Online Services may be suspended or terminated. We are not liable for any unauthorised use or sharing of your Sony Online Services account.

Sony put the feature there so family members (children) can have there PSN on a shared family unit.
Sharing with friends Is another kettle of fish.
I would seriously suggest that you read the terms & conditions of PS via the link posted. As your arguing that It's ok to share your account details with a friend which Is clear In black & white not the case.

Note the words "unauthorised use" and note the disclaimer sentence at the bottom.

Now, if you set up your account on a friends ps3 it's clearly not unauthorised use, you haven't given anyone your password or any account details because you created it yourself. It's not unauthorised because there's no law or even a Sony terms and conditions rule about other people apart from yourself playing a game on your playstation account. You just need to understand what things actually mean and cover in things like terms and conditions properly instead of looking at it in black and white. Almost all of that is only put there to cover Sony incase something goes wrong between people doing it so they can't be sued.

Like I said Sony announced you could do this feature themselves, don't confuse legal mumbo jumbo with what you can actually do.

You know thats a very good point you have there. So that clears up sharing your Id with a friend.
I believe thats 40/30 to you. Then we have the relm of online services.
It also states.
You must not sell, buy, trade or otherwise transfer your Online ID, your personal access to Sony Online Services or any Services accessed via Sony Online Services, through any means or method, including via web auction sites.

Nothing said about whether It's authorised / unauthorised. But you are breaching when setting up your account on a friends unit & down loading cars from PSstore (a sony online service).

You're not selling, buying, trading or indeed transfering your account or any services, you're mearly using your account on another Sony console. Once again you'll see that this is part of a legal disclaimer for the intent that Sony don't get sued, for instance, some idiot online decides to trade login details online, forgetting their credit card details happen to be linked to their PSN account. You can guess the rest.

For 'terms and conditions' read 'at your own risk'
