Wanted to survey some opinions on different approaches to qualifying, scoring, and penalties.

What have been your favorite iterations for each of these? Like methods of scoring for a championship series, how penalties may be served, and/or methods of qualifying, including how grid order is specifically influenced. (E.g. fastest first vs. fastest last, etc.) Was hoping to maybe get some inspiration for alternate approaches that you could see working in a future Gran Turismo game, or another racing game for that matter.

For example, I had quite a bit to say on qualifying in GTS alone, haha!

I also had a bit to say about penalties, specifically how they're served. I wonder if we should be occasionally be given one of three different options to serve penalties: the newer penalty zones, slowing down at our own discretion to serve them, or by simply taking them off our finishing time at the end. I think Formula One does something similar to that last one.
