Full metal Jacket and the Thin red line are both a lot better than SPR imo.

Very much in agreement...

Both seem to be more accurate, and offer deaper plot lines...

I just hate it because it's one more thing to deal with. :irked:

Then that is where you and I differ, my friend. I always wonder why people who cheat can't grasp the fundamental truth that they are in fact only cheating themselves. What good is an education you didn't earn? Plus, is it really worth risking public embarassment and expulsion? All it takes is one fastidious teacher or professor and you're done. It's true what they say: sooner or later it'll all catch up to you. If you can't see that now, hopefully some day you will.

Now, let's get back on topic!!

Because, you're not cheating yourself if you understand/know what the topic you're cheating is about..

saying that's cheating is like....skipping a final you don't have to take and you'll get an A with or without it..

but yes..like you said back on topic..

They were both VERY good. Following is my opinion. ;)

For me, the problem with Full Metal Jacket was the boot camp. Lee Ermey stole the show! I thought the film was pretty much downhill after the bootcamp part in the opening.

Thin Red Line was an excellent film, filled with some of the finest actors. Unfortunately, it came around the same time as Saving Private Ryan. The Thin Red Line lost badly, and for good reason. In a "war" movie, battle scenes are vital. The Thin Red Line had some of the most memorable battle sequences in a recent memory, still it couldn't reach the level of Saving Private Ryan's D-Day Invasion. As far as the "battles" go, Full Metal Jacket isn't even in the same league.

P.S. I love "Tora Tora Tora".

Are you talking of the new WOTW or the old one? Despite the old WOTW technological disadvantages i would say it's better than the new one because it's such a classic and Tom Cruise is a dick. Saving private ryan was decent but too subject oriented to be a "best film ever." With all the great movies ever made i would say it's imposseible for anyone to name a "best film ever." Maybe it's just because ive see almost every "great" and many not so great movies.

Are you guys off your rockers?? Aliens is the greatest movie ever made! Of all categories! It has believable science fiction, brilliant special effects, plenty of action, a beautiful actress in a leading role, horror, excellent acting and directing, and to top it off, it's rated R!

"17 days? Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade but we're not to last 17 hours!"

"They mostly come out at night......Mostly."

I'm disappointed 2001 isn't on that list.

I can agree with Taxi Driver, though... best ending for any movie... ever.
