Warning / ban info.asking for general info nothing else.

Hi.I recieved the message shown below in the 2 screenshots.If I open a ticket with forza support will they tell me which console I attempted to play on is banned or am I banned? I got to a freinds house to play F7 and FH5,when I attempted to login on his console with my gamertag info as usual but i wasnt able to at all,he cant login either so is his likely to be the banned device? He claims,as they all do,that he doesnt know why he was banned.He can get quite`excited`playing multiplayer so i suspect its something to do with that.
On my xsx I can login and play multiplayer so a little confused.
I know its generally frowned upon to discuss bans over on forza.net so I thought you guys might be able to help.Just looking for info and how to avoid further issues.If ive infringed t&c`s over here I appologise. 👍

The wording suggests that you have been warned due to you logging into a console that has been banned, and that the console was banned due to activity on another account that comprised running cheat software.

That rather suggests your friend's console is the banned one and he does more than "get quite excited playing multiplayer", and you've been warned not to log into it again.

Cheers for the reply.Thats what I took it to mean,hes obviously done more but wont say.
How do they ban a console though,I assume its done via firmware or something.

Wired and wireless MAC addresses would be my first guess. There is likely other means of identifying specific consoles available to the watchdogs.

I had a quick google and the general opinion seems to be its done via serial number or via the main board.Clever stuff all the same.

This happened to me way back in 2011 or 2012 when playing Forza Motorsport 3. My friend had modded cars, massive amounts of credits, etc. on his console and was banned by Turn 10. I came over and plugged in my HDD to his Xbox 360 to play and then learned that I was banned despite never using mods. I tested it on my own Xbox when I got home and the ban still remained.

Eventually the ban went away, but that was after a few years.

Im very reluctant to let him log into his account on my xsx,I dont want to end up in further mire with a possible ban.He claims he never had any notification on his console or by email,hes a mate so I dont want to call him out,but I cant imagine banning a device with no message on his console or an email to him.

He’s a mate, you should call him out, not to burn him, but to just let him know why you’re worried, you’d be looking out for him if you do so.
