Warren Zevon was (fairly) recently diagnosed with terminal, inoperable lung cancer. He was a good musician and excellent songwriter who always chose interesting sidemen. His career started long before the famous Excitable Boy and will only end when he breathes his last. He's spending his last few weeks and months with his family, and in the studio to record as much as possible while he still can.

Boy, first Frank Zappa, then Joey Ramone, now Warren Zevon. Getting old sucks.

Normally in a school situation, if someone came to me and said, "Do you know John Doe (made that name up Duh!)?" and even if I didn't, I would say yes because if I said no, then they wouldn't tell me whatever they wanted to say about him. But in a situation like this, it seems stupid to ask who this person is when the name is in the name of the thread...

...and a lot of them from smoking related diseases, too. You noticed a lot of them are lung and throat cancers?

Sad loss, though. Aging is a bit of a bugger.
 
Two things:
1: Warren Zevon may be better known for the tune "Werevolves of London". If you don't know it pick-up American Werewolf in London at Blockbuster. It's played during the movie.

2: As for getting old, there is only one way to not get old.
