At about 9.20AM GMT I was logged on to the forums and having visited a few posts I tried to load another page and it failed. I then got an error when trying to load the main page.

Was it just me or did the site go down? I didn't think to try any other websites

I don't have any record of downtime - it must have been an intermittent issue with your connection.

Thanks for the help everyone, it must be my router playing up again!

I had an issue at about the same time for 10 minutes. I couldn't refresh or change sections on my iPhone. but I haven't had it since.

I had those 'Parma' issues or what ever they were called.

I don't see updates anymore there. :indiff:

But yes, this is my 1000th post! :D
That's because there hasn't been any extended, unexpected downtime for quite a while. That's a good thing.

Then that means the apocalypse* is about to rein down on GTPlanet, if it really has been a long time

*Downtime is coming :D

I get a database error every once in a while, but it goes away after 30 seconds or so. As Jordan said, probably a connection issue.

That statement is probably more correct than you realize right now.

This morning on my iPod I tried to view a thread, a message popped up saying the server is down for maintenance. Please go view the news section to entertain yourself while it's down.
Something along those lines.
Tried to refresh, still down.
Opened another thread and it worked fine.

Never had that issue before.

And that last post Jordan, you're going to give me nightmares. :scared:

There was one moment where I clicked a link, got logged out to the "Forums are down for maintenance" message...then logged back in two seconds later and it was fine. :)

Yeah, the forums were closed for about 30 seconds earlier today for...maintenance. :p

Unexpected downtime (when the site is not accessible and I can't immediately resolve the problem) is not the same as a controlled closure of the forums for software maintenance. "Unexpected downtime" often results from software maintenance and updates, of which there will be many in the long, winding path to GTP11 - hence my suggestive comment above.

30 secs was quick Jordan. You must've been Speedy Gonzales! ;)

Before anyone asks again, yes, it just happened again. At least I hope that's what it was.

Happened to me too, so I suppose it's fine.

Yep. There's no need to be alarmed when you see that message, as it will only appear if I explicitly turn off the forums.

Aww, I was hoping you knew of a huge, earth shattering GT5 announcement that was going to bring GTPlanet and the internet down due to traffic.
