I think there are too many polls, so I'm not going to post this as a poll. Just reply your opinion (:

Do you guys (and gals) find GT3 as much fun to watch as it is to play? I think that's one of the true tests of a game. If you can enjoy watching someone else play the game, without being a backseat driver, then the game has passed another 'quality test'. I think it has a lot to do with the person playing the game, but sometimes even watching someone play certain games really crappy can be fun. It's just like you can't get enough of the game!

My friends and I sit around and watch eachother play GT3, then we watch the replays. Mostly we sit in awe of the supurb graphics, but it's fun to nit-pick a guy's driving ability AFTER he's done racing.

"Dood, you hit the same wall every lap for 10 laps! You'd think eventually you'd slow down. HA!"

Yep, I agree. Especially whenever I've just ran a great, smooth lap, I always sit back and enjoy the show! It's kind of like having your own personal feed of Speedvision... :D

Ha ha! Yea, my sister's boyfriend came over one day and at first he thought I was watching ESPN. Then I could see on his face when he realized it was a game.

"DOOD! I thought that was ESPN! That's so COOL!!"

It took him a good three minutes before he realized it though. Probably the fact that there aren't announcers or commercials (:

Three years later ...

I'm still watching my replays after a race. Or at least a couple laps of it. Do we know if we'll have replay control in GT4?

It depends on the driver, car and track. I generally enjoy watching someone play, unless they drive a Civic or other Honda-based vehicle (VTEC is all they got going for them in a game like GT3, everything else is just better), or boring track like Super Speedway.

As for the driver, if they aren't any good, it's no fun to watch, because you can see the frustration in their driving. When they start to lose, they push the car harder. When they do that, they wipe out more, they hit more walls, they ram other drivers, and the game looks kind of dumb and boring. It'd be like watching a guy get waxed every 10 seconds playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. It's funny at first, but then it gets boring.

yea its fun to watch people play, as long as each drive thats playing has some skill in the game. If they don't well you can go with what TruenoEightSix said, but after you play the game enough, you want to do more, even thorugh say you beat every possble part of the game. Its all about how bad you love racing and GT3!

We had an ilink party at the weekend, and at some of the races I was watching I was captivated by the racing display put on by the other drivers. Sadly though there's no replays on ilink.

I generally don't watch my own replays, they're too full of little mistakes - but I like watching over a friend's shoulder if they're having fun.

Yeah, I love watching my replays.

I haven't found anyone good enough to be worth watching. Very few people I know play it. I do love replays though.

It is great to view a replay when you know that you've played so well. If I remember a point in the race where I was particularly good, antisipating it makes the replay even better. Except if the camera decides to look at the track from an angle where you can't view or appreciate the skill in all it's glory.

I've been verifying replays for some time, now (TORC, GTF/GTX FGP, RL and HGT database submissions, etc).

While I usually watch the official verification from 3rd person view, to check out off's, wall and AI contacts, I usually watch a very fast, verified replay in "broadcast" mode, enjoying the driving skills of many of the finest NTSC drivers in the GT Community.
