wd raptor confusion

Ok I just bought a 74g Raptor and have to know, do games have to be installed on the raptor to load fast because I am getting another hard drive maybe a 120g, and need to know if I should use my raptor as my games hd and the 120 as storage or what? Will games still load fast as if they were on the raptor if their installed in my 120gig? The reason Im asking is because I am still waiting for my os cd and might order a 2nd hd tonight, then my gaming rig will be ready. Thanks Oh and My raptor is set at primary of course if this changes anything :) .
 
You need to install the games on the faster drive for the game to be faster. You don't need to set the drive to the primary drive to install a game onto it.
 
unless it has one of those rare but still annoying installers that doesn't allow you to specify the installation directory
 
Thanks, yeah I wish they made all games tell you which hd you would like the game to be installed on. Anybody hear of or know when a higher capacity raptor will be out?

If you're looking at the 10Krpm versions, the last thing I read was early Q2 2005..

Just get another 74Gb and run the im a raid 0 config :trouble:

Don't forget to ensure that your Page File is on the faster drive also.

Preferably on its own partition, with fixed size ;)
