I think we all understand that this is a "Japanese" skewed game because of who produces it. However, I don't think that the market (U.S./Europe being one huge market) wants only Asian cars.
Diversity in available cars can only be a good thing. While I agree that adding Nascar cars is probably too much (also I believe the licence is owned by someone else), but more U.S. cars is almost required. However, I think the F1 cars should go away as well. I always think of GT as street and street modified (and Rally) cars, not F1, Nascar or any other "real" race circuit.
Consider. The U.S., in it's wealthy hugeness, buys ALOT of games. If you want to make a bigger profit, make what the market wants, including the US market. Include all those little rice burners, no problem, great, but add some American rolling iron as well, both classic and modern. I think GT2 did this the best. The mix there was amazing, meeting almost every demand we could want. I got my 71' Dodge Charger, and you got, whatever is is you like, Asian wise.
Honestly, how many Miata's do you really need(5)??? How many Lancers (10)??? How many Skylines (7)???? How many is too many??? 5? 7? 50????? Thats a fun game, 50 Toyota Celicas......
Seems like overkill. Take away a Miata or Lancer or Skyline or Two and add in something else, a better BMW, Mercades, New Ford T-Bird, Dodge Intrepid, Maserati or something!
Clearly, GT3 missed out on alot of good cars, from the US, UK, Germany, Italy and elsewhere. I wont get into the licensing requirements here, but I know they are tough. But many Fans went without and drove what was available, while lamenting the loss (or non-inclusion) of the favorite cars. Yes, GT3 still rocked, but it could have been better.
I just hope the designers take this into consideration for GT4. There are alot of good cars out there (old and new) that many of would love to use in GT4. Here's hoping they come through!
