Hi I have some Wedgwood jewellery and as there is some educated people on here.
I wondered if anybody could tell me a little more about them? Or knows someone that can.

I know the earrings are of Cupid sharpening his arrows design. And the necklace design is Hebe and the Eagle. But I'm at a blank with the ring and the pendant.
I also know it was produced in Stoke-on-Trent England as It's not to far from me.

So help with the design name of the ring and pendant. Dates of manufacture would be great.
And if It's worth adding to my house insurance.

Thank you.
Here is a picture with a link to the full size imagine below that.

If you get me some additional detailed pictures and a picture of the maker's mark I'll be happy to look it up for you. I work at an art gallery and jewellery store that specialises in antique and estate jewellery so I have access to all sorts of books and what not that I can flip through and figure it out.

If I can't find anything in a book I'll show the pictures to my manager and have her give me her thoughts on the pieces.

If I were a gambling man, and I bet you £10 I'm not, I'd say it's Terpischore, the Muse of Dance. Is that a lyre in her left hand?

Lol and I'm hoping your correct.

Unfortunately the quality ol my camera phone is not to good at close ups. But I can tell you that the only mark on the ring is sterling silver,It's not uncommon for small pieces to have minimal markings apparently. And the earrings have JW SILVER at the top and CAMEO BY WEDGWOOD at the bottom,
Thank you for taking the time to look into this for me.
I didn't realise how big the market was for this stuff especially in the USA and Australi.

Based on the maker's mark they aren't terribly old, the "Wedgewood Made in England" stamp began in 1970 I think. It is lovely jasperware though and appears to be in decent condition.

I'd put the pendant at about $75-$80 and the pin about the same. The ring is probably $50-ish. I'm not sure on the earrings. This is about what post 1970 Wedgewood jasperware typically goes for, it could be worth more if they were rare designs or something. All in all I'd got for about $300-$400 for the total set. I have no idea what the UK market is like though.

I'll look into it more tomorrow while I'm at work and let you know what else I find out.

I really can't tell what she's holding in her right hand. If it's a lyre, it'll be Terpsichore - but it almost looks like it could be a dude's head, in which case it's Melpomene the Muse of Dance (oft-pictured with a tragic mask in one hand and a club in the other).

It is Melpomene.

Terpsichore looks like this:

Didn't know what a Lyre was till I googled it.

"It's some kind of stringed instrument."
"Lyre?"
"No, I'm telling you the truth..."

So, anyway. Melpomene, the Muse of Dance it is.

Ha ha humor I like it.
Yes It seems It's a miniature style Harp type instrument.
Well thats the names of all the items. And there date is around the 1970's mark.
Will just see if Joey D bring up any interesting info on them.
Then I think I'm going to find them a new home.

Thanks for solving the puzzle guys.

New home needed for Wedgwood. I have 100% decided to part with these items as they just sit in a draw and deserve to be displayed somewhere. So if someone is interested please make me an offer via PM.

Edit: Just noticed my double post thought I was in edit. Sorry for that.

Sorry man, no ones been able to tell me anything else about these pieces.

Your best bet is to sell them on eBay, you'll probably get more money for them that way. You could also go around to antique/estate jewellery stores in your area and get offers on them. Seriously I'd start off by asking for $400 and letting them work you down.

My old man used to collect blue Wedgewood, not so much the jewellery but the ornamental plates and such. The gear is worth a few quid but it's not fortunes to buy it from a good specialist dealer. I'll give you an estimate of around 60-80 quid on you collection there, but I'm not an arts dealer, just [very] slightly knowledgable about it. Worth adding to your contents insurance I'd say. Good luck.
