Tonight is Timed Shuffle and one make race.

Open Lobby at Club ID 1005678.

What more can you say about Shuffle, it's Shuffle.

======================================

Next week starting the 10 / 12 / 2014 is the start of the World Tour

More details will follow here

City%2Bof%2BArts%2Band%2BSciences%2B-%2BNight_1.jpg

Here is the low down on this World Tour
These two cars you'll keep for every race, after each race we'll switch from one to the other FF/FR. There will be two world track we visit on the night, each will have three races, two sprint races and on main race, so six races in all, each new race we change to our second car. This will be once a month and the next two world track will be posted soon after this event is finished.

Now we may encounter some weather while we're on the tour, so I would purchase intermediates and full wets, regulations of one country may only allow night races due to their cities info-structure so make sure all lights are working.

Hope that is nice and clear.

Car setup. Now I've tested these in default mode as they came from the dealer, but to make them compatible power and weight had to be adjusted, so too did the tyre compounds, SH/SM

An easy way to see this is the FF under steer, to compensate for this so that the FR didn't have an overall advantage was to fit SM to the SS-II and put SH on the Opera S2000.
The Opera being very much lighter has full ballast and a very small change to the power unit, then a minimum use of the power limiter to bring the two cars inline at 467 PP & 468 PP.

This gave me very competitive times on all tracks in both cars.

Now the room will have to be set to allow tuning, once the power unit is set you can't change it, doing so will only get you removed from the World Tour as it shows disrespect for your fellow races, no questions asked.

Car setup.

We'll set up the Trial Celica SS-II.

Syracuse%2B-%2BNight_4.jpg

Parts.

Tyres: Sport Mediums
Suspension Racing Hard (Default)
Brake Discs Standard
Transmission Standard
Drive Train Standard
Power (Default) Standard
Body (Default) Standard

Final setting should be.
467pp / 294bhp / 1140Kg with a power to weight ratio of (3.87)

Next the Opera Performance S2000

Ronda_1.jpg

Parts.

Tyres: Sport Hard
Suspension Racing Hard (Default)
Brake Discs Standard
Transmission Standard
Drive Train Standard
Power Exhaust Semi Racing / Power limiter set at 94.5%
Body ++ 200Kg

Final setting should be.

468pp / 283bhp / 1130Kg with a power to weight ratio of (3.99)

==================================

As this is a World Tour at two different track each event, I tested with default, as to keep re-tuning two cars at two different tracks each time you change, would be absolutely stupid, they run well in default and are very competitive.

Now if you wish to buy and install the upgrade parts that's fine, I can't stop you doing so, would tuning the Standard parts help, or the upgrade parts being tuned help, a short tune for one track may be fine, come to the next long track, you'll be at a disadvantage and end up nowhere in the race.

Besides that the race will not be held for fellow racers taking part if your playing with settings, you'll miss the start of the race, as this is also looked at as disrespectful towards your fellow racers.

As you can see the setup is very simple, so to are the rules.

On to Tracks.

First two Tracks : Austria Red Bull Ring / United Kingdom Brands Hatch GP.

Races:
Race 1 Sprint 10 minute mixed grid. No pit Fastest First
Race 2 Sprint 10 minute mixed grid. No pit Reverse grid
Race 3 Main 20 minute single make. One pit Reverse grid

Mixed grid is alternate cars on grid ie: SS-II / S2000 / SS-II / S2000
After your first race you change car, if you were in the FF you change to the FR for race two.

Main race will be one make, 1st main race will be Celica SS-II second Opera S2000

Track two.
Race 1 Main 20 minutes single make. One pit Grid Based on last results
Race 2 Sprint 10 minute mixed grid. No pit Reverse grid
Race 3 Sprint 10 minute mixed grid. No pit Reverse grid

Now there maybe weather at some locations, we will not know this till we land on their soil.

There will be breaks between races of around 10 mins give everyone time to chat and change car, maybe get a hot lap in, as some tracks will favour the FF some will favour the FR.

Some guys prefer FF over FR cars, plus being able to adapt to the different tracks in two different cars all in race mode.

Good luck hope you join in this, you get lots of enjoyment out of it once a month on a Wednesday.

I think I've made it plain and simple, it is very easy setup, all you need to remember is just keep changing your car after every race.

Any questions please ask. Or if you think I've missed something please say.

dranddad/Eriba.

So the cars should be fit with the right parts and then remain default. 👍

Yes Bo.

You know me of old 99% of my cars I run default even if you are allowed to tune, so long as I have the power / weight set right, that's good enough for me.

But if guys want to tune that's up to them, you can buy the upgrade parts if you wish I can't stop you. You can tune them if you wish can't police if tuning allowed.

All I say is if you do, don't expect members to wait for you to re-tune your car for every race and changing track, that's disrespectful to other members in the lounge.

I'll be as the settings in the op above.

Thanks guys.

Ps room settings will reflect this
Max pp 468 / max bhp 294 / min Kg 1130

One note I didn't make was, there are no points in this. But if you would like to keep track of podium finishing thay may be good to add up at the end.

Who got the most Gold's / Silver / Bronze :) :indiff: :grumpy:

A News update

With the bugs that PD have in the game (simulator) some times when you change cars, one may enter the grid in the same car as the last race, this happened a lot in last WFN. So as we change car after each race, just keep a watch on the grids, we don't want to end up with one make races all the time in the Mixed Grid.

Also last night was really bad for DC's 4 times for me, so please be patient.

A quick fix for this is to simply jump on track in your new car, then leave the track completely (using the red X in the lobby options - not by leaving the lobby!), then rejoin in your new car again.

Might have chance to join tonight for a race or two Phillip, but then again you've seem my 'mights' before!!
Good luck!

Thanks for the info Jim.

Hope you do get time Jim, we've tested this combo and the video shows just how competitive one can make a FF and FR cars by just by playing with power to weight and, tyre choice.

Only thing that is out of my hands is if guys start tuning suspension and gears, if one does, then all have too, but then you may loose that door to door racing that we had in testing.

But we'll see on that as we travel round the world, long event once a month and one that we can all shine and show off our driving skills. Everything to play for with how many podiums one can amass after (what is it ) 25.000 miles.

Haven driven with gents from both GTP and GTA, also Team Morphine / THG all do have some of the highest standards I've come across and, It's my pleasure to put on this event for all, as I'm sure there maybe even three or four clubs join.

Team morphine and THG have all seen the advertisement on their timeline and are more than welcome.

Tonight's Thread Link

Something you may like to read A little history.

In my time over many years going back to PS2 and using that funny emulator, long before PS3 came on the seen I/we have all tried different things in ways of improving and widening our past time pleasure GT. I've meet guys from Team Morphine THG GTP and GBRC from all over the world. Gents like Spy, Bart, Travilha, Bruce, Jim, Mr D, Ade, Cobani the list is endless, at not far off 62 now I've managed to get great enjoyment and company from all of you I've meet, some have given me some prestigious nick names like, Gentleman racer, Mr smooth each time I hear it brings a smile to my face. But one of the most impressive things for me is that all these guys I've meet don't have ego's bigger than themselves.

you've heard me say in the past I sold mine long ago.

I've tried in the past of sharing this with many in a venture of club vs club along with others that helped in the same goal, but alas time is not always on our side with our busy lives and personal problem. Nonetheless we've all tried to improve things, maybe this new community feature will open the doors to that idea.

Being able to pass info onto friends on your PSN list via this new timeline is a great feature, in away helping to spread the word of what members of different clubs are doing. Invites from one to another like this World Tour, yes I know it's not the most exciting combo out there in GT6, but its a start.

Wednesday Fun Night was and I'm sure will be again good entertainment midweek, a night to let your hair down sometimes (not always) a night for real serious racing come to the fore, track creator race nights and theme nights all of which we're and will be again a great way to unwind midweek.

This is only the first whereby, members from any member of your friends list may join, members of your PSN friends list will no doubt be different to mine, or another, what better way using this new timeline of, building a larger community than that do you know of, I don't.

Do we want to get back to full grids again, or are you just happy with 5 or 6 regulars, I'll leave that thought with you, I already know my answer.

Like all new things in GT and our enjoyment things take time, we know the track record of how long it takes to turn out a new Simulator (game) can we expect a new venture like this to happen over night.

If you want it work at it, if you don't, just carry on with your 5/6 friends on your grids.

I for one would still like to get more out of the great company I've meet over the years, I would also like to get everything I can out of Gran Turismo.

Thanks for reading, your thoughts welcome.

Phillip.

Just done a final race duration test with Predator_GB_no1 great fellow, 6 laps on both tracks and barring mistakes we are within a couple of tenths of one another.

Thanks Predator for your help.

Tonight your racing for podiums 6 races so 18 places up for grabs, how many of these can you amass.

You all have access to the Club ID 1005678 site so please keep a list of :) :indiff: :irked: gold /silver/bronze places and post them on the GT forum Club site , I'll post the results so it shows up in PSN friends timelines.

Don your helmets and gloves and come with your best driving skills, as he who makes the least mistakes will be sure of a podium or two.

Look forward to seeing you all later PSN willing.

Great bunch of races last night Phil, thanks for organising and hosting.
Shame the usual old connection problems reared there ugly heads, but thats out of anyones hands.
Looking forward to the next one I can make.

I feel humbled

I had this idea of bringing together guys of very high standards, from two different forums and 3 or 4 different clubs. now most didn't have the privilege of racing with others week after week, month after month or even years. It goes a long way when you know over time just what the other guy is going to do on track and you know their style. Some may even think are you mad that's never going to work, I've heard comments in the past like we run things our way, if you don't like it tuff.

But last night showed one thing, yes you can, yes my organisation skills are not the best, my idea of a combo may well be rubbish but I believe it's the members in the room that make for an enjoyable night/event/race not how good the combo is.

I take my
upload_2014-12-11_8-0-20.png
to each and everyone of you.

It brought it home to me when I read things like this reply, from someone I've never meet before.

upload_2014-12-11_8-9-9.png

And Francois wishes to come back and race with you all again.

This is just a taster you'll notice there are two names missing from the line up Bruce bnic11 and Warren theewar.

upload_2014-12-11_8-14-9.png

Which would have made 12 on the grid, how long has it been since we had these sort of numbers and that was just the first event, outstanding support.

I'll make up a list of podium places which there were no less than 9 different members that got Gold/Silver/Bronze from 5 of the races, sorry don't have the results from the six races missed the first race. Big thanks to Gary (GC) for the results pictures.

And this was just the first event, what if GBRC and Lotus Sunday Cup, HDSS Enduro, and there were members from other clubs there too. All do the same we could get back to full grids which has been missing now for a long time.

Good work guys looking forward to the next.

If you have any ideas at all, different cars, different race format, weather, night remember WFN (Wednesday Fun Night) is just that FUN.

Phillip.

WFN: Pure Race Night this Wednesday 17th Dec.

A casual night of pure racing in these great little cars on Racing Hard Tyres.

Syracuse_1.jpg

Syracuse%2B-%2BNight_2.jpg

These are all cheap and like me you could buy them all and change each new race, just adds that little spark to the evening.

Tuning is allowed if you wish, although as normal for a casual nights racing depends on how much time you have on your hands, they all run very well in their stock form with upgrades fitted were you like.

All I ask is you stick to the 4.51 power to weight setting.

Track is Nurb / D

9Y870RjD9TeZt2G9rrBYwgdnwMV8dKMAw6H-u68iDAQ=w336-h207-p-no

Normal Time 19.30 GMT till you've had enough.

Come with just 1 car or all 4 cars, each one has it's own characteristics and each one can be very entertaining.

This is a tuned event and all cars are set to a power to weight ratio of (4.51pwr)To help here are settings I've found work.

Mugen Civic: 422pp / 197bhp / 890Kg
Gathers Civic: 419pp / 206bhp / 930Kg
Golf IV GTi TC: 429pp / 217bhp / 980Kg
Click Type-R: 431pp / 210bhp / 950Kg

Hope these help, as per normal I don't go in for all this tuning malarkey, I may if the toe is something stupid like -50 / +1.00 take that to zero's but that's about it. What you wish to spend your precious time on is up to you.

--------------------

A late intro if we get time Online Seasonal event.

A-Spec Beginners Level Non-Racing Car Challenge
  • Cape Ring North
  • Normal cars, 450PP or less, Sports Hard or less

  • Typical mix NSX 01 / Skyline GT-R R32 -93 / Lotus V8S '91
You can use anything you like Non-racing with very limited use of the power limiter.

I've been away for a loooooong time but it looks like tomorrow might be the time for the next of my many comebacks! What are the cars Phillip? Number of races from 19:30 to 22:30 ish

Welcome Megg230

I do try and update the info here and at GT6 on the PS3 A good place to look if info is missing here is in the Club ID 1005678

Have a look around there I've been trying to get to grips with this new feature and post as much info as possible including pictures with info too. Click on the Wednesday Fun Night club, click on the Club events that should bring up all the events planed for weeks to come and for proposed WFN night in the new year.

As it's relaxed racing I keep the setup and info to a minimum, bit like pick up and race, all about the members enjoyment first and racing second. Leave the ego at the door on the way in come race and enjoy, pick up the ego on the way out. That way all the serious stuff is left for another day another event and you come relaxed ready for just pure fun racing.

Hope that helped draw a picture of WFN for you, you will enjoy yourself and I hope all bring others along to enjoy a WFN.

Phillip.

Edit: Also keep an eye on post #1 for new planed events.

Some top notch and - more importantly - top fun racing tonights gents. I was so slightly hampered by only being able to see 4 out of the 14 of you on track (I only realised in my last race!) so apologies if I inadvertently drove through anyone!!

Thanks for some good close racing, I look forward to joining you again very soon.

Can Hyundai make a small race car, looks like they can. Well done Gary holding off Megg230 (Gary) I said he was quick, well done megg on your first night with us to damn skippy.

These car do come alive if you take time to adjust the suspension and gear box which did show.

IMAG0119_zpsbb0427e4.jpg

One or two of the other new gents that join in later, temuster, Clarky, Redline and nytm2 very pleased you took the time to visit the dealership buy the right cars and return to the lounge. Hope you enjoyed the evening and by all means look up the club ID 1005678. That way you'll be able to join again if the room is club only members or friends only.

I'll try and edit with a video or two later.

Feel sorry for Bo missing this one, we were just 2 off a full room Bo as a couple had left, but that's what WFN is about come have a quick race if you have time and enjoy.

Thanks to Andy for your return and Bruce for your support and kind words.

A great turnout with close racing last night, the fun element was definitely there!

Although your screen showed the Hyundai as winning, I was actually using the Mugen Civic in that race, the Hyundai being a glitch from the previous race.

Civic FTW  I had intended to join this soirée. I had all the cars and everything. Sadly, everyone apart from me was ill in my house, which put pay to that :(
