Hi guys, welcome to week 5 of the driving skill competition. This is the new weekly competition where driving skill is everything. Each week a stock car and track is chosen the car CANNOT be tuned or modified in anyway as to give an advantage over others.

This week is the Audi R8 at Grand Valley Speedway and tyre choice is SPORTS Hard. All aids are to be turned off except ABS on 1. Transmission choice is down to you.

The car must be accessed via ARCADE MODE!

Brake balance can only be adjusted if you are driving with ABS off, if you are using ABS on 1 you must keep the default brake balance.

This is an offline competition and you can do anytime, just choose the car through arcade mode then select the track. Everybody Is free to enter.

Please send in your best lap time stating whether you used ds3 or wheel (lap must not have gone red).

When sending your times in please could you use the following format:

Driver: GTP name/PSN name
Time:
Transmission: Auto/Manual (if manual state whether clutch used)
Controller: DS3/wheel
ABS:
Brake Balance: Front/Rear (only applicable if ABS is off)

Also please state your updated time in a new post, do not simply edit a previous one.

After the huge success of the previous weeks it would be great to get as many people racing this week. So get out on that track and have fun!

WHEN UPDATING YOUR TIME (IF YOU HAVE IMPROVED ETC) YOU MUST CREATE A NEW POST.

IF YOU DO NOT THEN DO NOT MOAN WHEN YOUR TIME IS NOT ADDED TO THE LIST. ​

Very sloppy, can't figure this thing out yet. Can run 2:06s steadily at least.

EDIT: It might not be a bad idea to include in the first post the fact that the competition starts and ends at 10:00 GMT each Saturday, to save people needing to ask that every week.

ie ARCADE ONLY not FAVOURITES!👍

Oh I know I spent half an hour editing the OP for WDSC, FDSC, edited my signature, edited the OP's of previous weeks! Did 5 laps on GVS to get a rough estimate of lap time target, I am aiming for 2:04.5
 
This one's perfect for me, I've been doing the GVS 200km so I've setled in to a smooth and fast line :)

Nice time, I know this track really well since I did the 200km GVS enduro a while ago in my 500pp focus rs. So i'm hoping I can break 2:05, gonna try some laps on the FDSC soon. 👍

There's more in it, that was a rather sloppy lap. By competition close I wanna be around the 2:04.000 mark...

that's more like the form I was expecting. I love GVS and the R8 is great fun to drive on the edge. A touch under-steery coming out of the longer corners and hairpins, but if you stamp on the brakes and chuck it in the back will slide just enough to allow the power to come on SO much earlier. May even post another vid in a bit :lol:

As said previously, not the tidiest of laps, and will more than likely not be the quickest, but here it is none the less:

I´m having trouble to get under 2:07
I´love the track and the car in general, but I can´t seem to figure this one out just yet. (my excuse, is that I´ve been drinking beer since 12 o´clock... might have someting to do with it :dopey:)

That seems highly unlikely that time :) good luck on the ring tho, I think I'm up on your by 1 tenth at the moment :sly:
 
Great combo this week, probably the best yet, I forgot how awesome the R8 is!

Not sure how much time is left in it, but I'm happy with my time, I ran about 6 or 7 laps.
 
After a 10 "lapper" with more focus, I managed to shave my time to:

Controller: DFGT
ABS: 1

The flow is coming back :)
