Cya there. ;)
btw, did anyone notice all the pros in this week.

:D lots of people racing in this one :D

2nd road race with my Logitech pro wheel and using a manual :) man I love this wheel so much, i'm running a heck of a lot smoother than I ever did with a DS2.

IMO I think a 1'20.250 is about as fast as the lil Miata can do on SSR5 II
I lost 2-3 tenths on turn 2, didnt nail that corner quite right so I had to get on the brakes some to make it thru th esses properly T1: 25.287"taken from the replay so the actaul T1 was a few hunderdths slower than that" The best T1 I did was a 25.022. Turn 5 was a lot of fun, hit it right and you can stay on the gas with the wheel turned all the way to the left and nail turn 6's apex perfect. Then straightening up for the brake zone was a PITA, in that 25.022 I lost the rear end under braking for the hairpin. 8 and 9 were fun when done right, I burped the gas just after making my turn in for 9 to plant the front end. I made it thru there once going flat out 100 MPH at turn 9 and 105 on the exit cleanly. In my clean lap I slowed to 98-99 mph on turn 9.
T2: 47.113, 46.8-9 could be done depending onyour T1 time.
Turn 10,11 flat out then a fun braking into 12 as deep as you can. Staying off the rumbles on the apex was a must for me at least, every time it really threw me a curve ball if I was on them while braking. One time I acutally lifted the front tires off the ground from going over them at an adkward angle.
Turn 13 you had to be on the rumble strips doing 70 mph and ending up at 77-79 on the exit. Thats tough to do considering that the rumbles are so close to the wall that you could easily make contact by accident.
Turn 14 was flat out, Apex right on the rumble strips and keep a tight line near the wall on the left side of the track. Now its time for a real deep entrance into the tunnel slowing down to about 92-94 mph and going flat out to the finish line. On the exit of the tunnel I was doing 100-102 when making the corner perfect.
Off to the finish line: 1'20.579

I've never been a real fan of running a maxed out miata since they are so freaking tail happy, never even driven the miata outside of the Liscens tests. It would have been better if there was a rear spoiler on the car. I think everyones times would have been closer if we could have dialed in some rear downforce. I'm sure lots of people had some oversteer in the high speed sections, only being smooth at the wheel could you really rid yourself of most oversteer. I still had some during my fast lap.

Congrats to the podiums, and to everybody who had fun this week.

Thanks Kent and CarbonFiber Man for a great combo. Feels good to race, when you're actually in control of the car.

I'll celebrate my division win with a replay. I'll post it after work.

Se you in the Forest. :)

On the exit of the tunnel I was doing 100-102 when making the corner perfect.

Well I had fun, but my time was a lot faster than I thought. On the exit of the tunnel I was doing at least 175kph with my setup, which I think equates to a bit more than 100mph. Maybe thats where I gained some time? I thought I was quite a bit off pace as my T2 time was slower than UB57's last posted time and his lap was quite a bit slower than mine ( sorry UB57 ;) ). Anyway, interesting to see how the last sector can change things. By the way, 2 out of 3 times ive forgotten to submit my division, yes I'm guilty:O , but I promise I will get better. Hmm, gotta get me an xport SOON  .

Kent, have I been demoted to division 3?

I'm sure I said I was division 2 in my PM to you when I submitted my time.

Just wanted to clarify this before I get on with this week's race.

I didn't like this week,i am still reasonably happy with my time but it's still waaay of the pace when compared to the first four. And to be defeated by my little brother,i should be ashamed of myself.
Well,i hope to do better next week.
Cya.

nice...amazing what happens when one tries (or has a little free time to try)....:) I don't have windows loaded on my mac right now but if someone REALLY wants to see my replay I'll load windoze so I can use my xport....otherwise I'll spare the effort.

 Congrats to all the Podium Finishers & in fact to ALL the Entrants!!! The best turn out we've had for a while I think! 👍

@ 3rdgenracerX: VERY quick adapting to your new wheel. 👍 You were already fast enough w/DS2! :irked: If CFM was using his new wheel that leaves only GoKents from the top six for sure using a DS2. (Don't know what controller Hotrod_269 uses.)

@ Hotrod_269: Looking forward to viewing you faster guy's replays. The Tunnel has ALWAYS been a problem for me going in this direction. I only seem to NOT Understeer the whole way through about one in twenty attempts! Know I'm doing something wrong but can't seem to fix it. Actually had a Slower T2 on the time I submitted but was lots better thru the tunnel for a net .2 second quicker run! :banghead: Still not enough however. :(

@ heero 12: Stick with us! No one here started out going as quickly as they are now!!! This OLR has been a great learning experience for all of us all & won't let you down I'm sure...UB57 :D

Wow, Im impressed... everyone had something to say that was very positive. Glad you all liked the race so much. :D

Now I'm going to qoute and respond... so much to mention.

3rdgenracerX
Nice lap, I wouldn't mind chasing the replay since I saw you had one up for the F1 race last week. Keep up those awesome times, it's good to have the competition. 👍

NielsG
Thanks for giving CarbonFiber Man some credit. ;)
I'll celebrate my division win with a replay. I'll post it after work.
I'm doing the same right here... it's also so everyone remembers that I am for real. :trouble:

Hotrod_269
By the way, 2 out of 3 times ive forgotten to submit my division, yes I'm guilty , but I promise I will get better. Hmm, gotta get me an xport SOON.
No problems, and no promises needed... and the xport, good idea. 👍

rayd_uk
No problem once agian, glad to see you remembered... maybe policy is working then?

UB57
Just a quality post from you as usual, and of course, wise like the elder. Elder just meaning observant... A DS2 I use to play that I do. :elderwiselook:

Btw, an odd thing happened when i did that lap:

At the start of my lap, just before the braking to the first corner, at my highest speed, the sound barrier (is the correct word barrier in english? You get it, mach1 or smthing) broke! At first, I was like WTF just happened, but then I remembered that the military is having some kind of practise.
But what an interesting timing!

Congrats to 3rdgenracerX. Very quick. I didn't get my run finished until about 11:00pm last nite. I was at 1:21.7xx all week and decided to try one more session. I worked it down into the low 1:21.4's and was about to submit but gave it a few more tries and ran a 1:20.922 with just a sleight wall brush at T2 so I pressed on for another hour. I figure I could have gone a bit faster but I was just too tired. Nice race, car combo Kent:tup:
Replay included.

Congrats to all the '20 somethings, and a special congrats to the Division 3 guys (NeilsG, buffalo, and boone_501) who started out looking dismal and worked down to some respectable times. 👍

Hang in there heero 12. Most of us here are proof that persistence pays off.
