Mmmm.. T to the power of Renesis - The RX8 in the weeklys.....

Nice choice Kent - should I add, as always 👍

Good call using an easy driving car on a big long track, won't make tagging the wall nearly as common as with a higher powered car.

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng track
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngeeeeeeer gearbox.

Undending pain expected for my thumbs this week.

daan
 Why don't you shorten it?
Eer... because I'm a dumb frenchman and I didn't even consider the option. :dunce:
(Actually the last time I drove the RX-8 was for Torc 12 warm-up lap and it was in Arcade mode, so gearbox had to be that looooooooooooooooong with no hope to change it)

I gave it a quick try tonight (3 laps) with a poor result.
Best clean lap at 16.744 / 1'00.941 / 1'26.390

BTW, the car (RX-8 EVOLV purple) has 394 hp for 1068 kg, hence a p/w ratio of 2.710. Somebody else confirms this ? I don't want to run in the wrong car all week long.

flat-out

Yeah, those stats are right.
2.7pwr @ 394hp 👍

Guess I should have tested some instead of just picking.
The power seems a little weak, but like someone all ready said, that just might make things more intresting. :D

Back later tonight with lap info if I manage to get some racing in.
Till then,
Later.

Gonna be a bad week for me. I don't have much experience on this track. Tried a few laps and am close to the t times Flat-out posted above.

Guess who's back? Not that most of you probably really cared but I managed to pass all my assignments and tests so I'm once again a relatively free human being. So that means I can get back to whinging in the WRS!

Famine
J'aime cette circuit!

Moi aussi Famine, moi aussi ;)

I've just run a few laps.
394HP

15.714
58.010
82.503

I used the default setup w/max. dampers, TCS 1 and ASM 0.
Maybe a little fooling with the gears, but they're pretty good the way they are.

This car isn't my cup of tea.

I'm a gunna go jump in the Panoz.

T times leaderboard is up.

I have a busy week ahead trying to catch up from being sick last week, but I should be able to keep it pretty current.

Link is in my sig, as always.

Its been along time since my last WRS race but this combo looked too good to pass up.

15.665
57.597
1.21.461

Welcome back IforceV8. Nice splits. 👍

15.788
57.381
81.605 same setup

Since I have a clean one in the sack, maybe I won't be so conservative at the end.
If I can knock off another .8sec., well...I guess I'd be done with it then.

I'm not 100% certain I should take this as a compliment

Suits me fine. 👍 I find the SSR 11's technical difficult tracks, so I'm glad we're not overpowered this week. :D

After first session I'm at:

16.351
59.999
1'25.108

Hey, my first clean lap at 1'26.3 on lap 3 without any setting doesn't look so bad after all, compared to NielsG's time.
I watched my replay several times and there is a lot of time to save on the brakings, I think with some practice I can expect a 1'23.

@ Famine : 'Circuit' is a masculine noun in french, so it has to be 'ce circuit' instead of 'cette circuit'. 'Cette' would have been correct with any feminine equivalent noun, such as 'piste' (track) or 'course' (race).
PS : Moi j'aime pas du tout ce circuit.

Ha. No settings. Your the smart one here. I'm using NielsG's settings. :scared:

woo for genders on nouns! It's been way too long since I wrote a word of French.

Glad I didn't sell this car when I golded the A license... It's actually impressing me with it's turning under acceleration.

Eagle - try Japanese. That's got tenses on verbs and adjectives.

Famine
Baloches.
    You didn't learn this one in a dictionary.

@ Eagle : your french sentence was 100% correct ;) you should try more often.

Actually I had found japanese an easy language for the syntax and spelling, when compared to the alien writing.
Try esperanto, that's by far the easiest language to learn. Much easier than english or french for sure, there are no exceptions.

NielsG
I'm using NielsG's settings.
If you post them I'll give them a try and see if they are so scary. They can hardly be worse than what I would have come up with.

16.032/59.030/1'22.965, and it's clean, although there are a few close calls due to powerslides (gotta tune that LSD). I have done a better T1 into the 15.8 range though. Very well balanced car, I'm liking the whole rotary power theme here (787B now the RX8 :D )

GREAT Combo GoKents: 👍
:D Another "Ride" I've never driven before!!! Splits after 4 Laps:

T-1 = 16.234'
T-2 = 58.366'
T-3 = 82.587'

...UB57
:D

Thanks for the PMed settings Niels. I tried them on 3 laps, getting a 1'26.1 at best. Then I changed the settings, could feel the difference on the car handling but not on the lap times.
I just don't like the track, and I don't the braking points, the racing line, etc.
I saved a clean lap at 17.328 / 1'00.390 / 1'25.189 so that I have something to submit anyway.
I drove 15 laps and never had 2 laps the same. I could be 1.1 sec in advance at T2 line and yet be 2.5 sec slower on the lap time. That means I lost 3.6 sec in around one minute. What a consistency ! The only thing that was consistent was T1 at 16.7 except for my clean lap. :grumpy:
So I think settings are one step too far for me. I'll learn the track first and think at settings when I have something consistent.
