Sweet, sounds kinda fun, I've got a soft spot for Deep Forest, although I haven't driven it since about a month after the release of GT2!!!

What defines the tracks edge there??? Is the tracks edge defined by the line at the tracks edge??? Because from what I remember theres a line, some track and it is vague where the track ends in some parts??? Maybe it seemed that way because of the tracks relative darkness in GT2...

I would have rather have had full mods so I could add this time to my replays page and the databases, but it's fun none the less.

First session:
22.931
50.013

Great combo. This is what I call fun. 👍 👍

A quick spin before work:

T2:50.3xx

This is going to be very go i think.

Finally a race in The Deep Forest. This was my favorite track for a long time when i bougth GT3, now i like all the tracks :D.
But i´ve never used the 3400 for too long. Let´s see how i´ll do.
Nice combo.

What the??

It must be in the set-up or something, because I can't see my car not being broken in could cause this much of a difference.

It appears I'm losing it all in the first section...hmmmm...I'm at a loss.

T1 - 24's
T2 - 52's

Grrrrrr.

Ok, thanks foolio.

Now I would like to ask that everyone remember this is not a full mod race.

Take note of the fact that there are several engine upgrades not included in this car's tuning. So be sure you are running the proper setup!

Also, I am sure you guys will have fun with it so good luck. :D
I will get the results from last week up as soon as I can.
Till then,
-

With the specified setup, I'm at 461 HP after 283.1 km.

Best clean lap:

23.045
49.756

Edit: As far as I remember, it was 448 HP before break-in.

Edit 2: 462 HP after full break-in.

Yeah, mine had 448hp when I first bought it.
My splits were from my 5th to 10th lap so it probably only had about 450hp.
I ran it to just over 100 miles and couldn't beat those splits except for one dirty one. :ouch:

I'm also not very good at setting cars up, so my settings probably suck. :yuck:
Everytime I post settings I did myself, everybody asks how the hell I drive it that way.
I'll post them in a little bit anyways.

Edit- My settings:
Springs: 7.5/9.5
Height: 77 both
Shocks: 10 all
Camber: 2.0/1.2
Toe: 0 both
Stabs: 6/7

Brakes: 24/20

LSD: 5/5/5

Gears: (haven't worked on these much, I usually wait until it's fully broken in)
1st 2.868
2nd 2.120
3rd 1.642
4th 1.346
5th 1.151
6th 1.017
Final 3.110
Auto 18 (tranny trick)

ASM and TCS are both 0

I'm also using DS2 and automatic. ( I won't be going back to the wheel until after BC4. )

Great combo Kent, I'll be sure to get a time on my favorite track. Using some altered settings form GTvault, and my own gear settings. So far I have 22.9 and 49.7. I think I lost about .3-.5 through the bunch of turns after T1. It's gonna be hard to get much more out of it for me I think. It'll be interesting to see how good my gears settingsare after I try some new ones if other people post theirs here. At first the car seemed very twitchy and loose but after I played with the setting it is really a quick car considering the non adjustable downforce.

NielsG
after 283.1 km, best clean lap:
23.045
49.756

462 HP after full break-in.
I had 462 HP from the start, I guess my Champagne Gold 3400S was a prize car.
Best clean lap after 70.2 km :trouble:
23.085
49.772
Don't watch in your mirrors Niels, you'll need your eyes focused on the next apex all along. 👍

Hey all!

Just got the car setup and ran it for exactly 24 miles.

The car feels great... Sounds good and handles well...
450 hp & 2.??? pwr make for a great little race car. ;)

With 24 miles, 450 hp, and a little time working on the setup...

49.6 T time (t2 or t3 which ever lol)

That could come down a whole lot too. :trouble:

Unfortunately it wouln't be with me lol.
I don't have the time, but with a good suspension and some time to get back on the course's line I know there could be 48's (that full 460? hp could help too).

Any way,
Just trying to encourage you all to keep at it.

Good luck in the races.
Till next time,
-

How much is HP after purchasing everything??? I have 427... some saying 448hp??? Am I missing something???

No did nothing... just added what was allowed... 427hp...

No oil change, no driving yet...

Anyone got some good gear settings yet, I think mine are really holding me back. Thanks for the help.

Kewl, thanx Tuff240.

One more question that wasn't answered yet, on the inside of some turns, does the 'white line' at the tracks edge designate where the two tyres must kept inside, because there really isn't a definitive 'edge' in some apex's...

Well, I still can't figure out how to take that time off of the first section.

Here's my best after about 12 laps or so...I can't sit for hours doing this I get frustrated.

T1 - 23.598
T2 - 51.066

Better, closer, warmer...

T1 - 23.311
T2 - 50.402

UPDATE!

Took a break ate a corndog, first lap after corndog...

T1 - 23.221
T2 - 50.250

Need more corndogs!

Started to break the car in...

Is GT3 Deep 'more undulating' than the GT & GT2 version if the track??? Or has it just been THAT LONG since I last drove it??? (about 2 months after GT2 released)

Anyhow, didn't really like the RUF 3400S at first but it is growing on me... refamiliarising myself with the track... (this one's alot easier on the thumbs using D-pad!!!)

Car still in mid 450's hp wise...

T1 - 23.1
T2 - 50.3 (was untidy too)

Looking forward to the full 462... ;)

EDIT:

T1 - 23.034
T2 - 49.956 @460hp

Well,

It is indeed hard to define the edge of the track on this course.

However, it can be done.

First off, you have to be ultra carefull and conservative about your line.

Most importantly though, The dirt on the outside of the track is what defines the edge of the track.

The white line should serve as a reminder that the edge is fast approaching, but the dirt is what we judge to be the edge of the track.

So basically, play it safe and try to stay off the dirt.

2 wheels can go on the dirt but any more and you better start a new lap. :trouble:

Good luck with it.
Later. :D

I just updated the leaderboard and had to double check to see if I had the colors reversed.
Great runs men in green. 👍
