Hey fellas,
Myself and a group of 5 others have been racing twice a week, in an organized fashion, routinely since December. And we are looking to grow our numbers. Currently 2 series are run every month. One takes place on Monday. The other Thursday. Each night features 2 sprint races lasting roughly 20 minutes each. 10-15 minutes of qualifying precedes the first race. The second race is run in reverse order. Winner of race from previous week is also not allowed to qualify. No races feature pit stops (though tire wear and fuel consumption are set to 1x).
We're all of mid-level skill (Driver Rating Bs) and adhere to the accepted rules of racing (right to the line, no blocking, etc). We also usually have an open chat going during the race. Races usually start around 8-815 PM EST though sometimes we drag out feet till 830 if someone is running late.
As an example of what we run currently (for March) our Monday night races are "Spec E46" with the M3, set to 634 PP on RM tires. All cars have the same build (but suspension tuning allowed). Our currently Thursday night series is "80s Super Sports Cars" featuring the Countach, Testarossa, ZR1, etc with a 585 PP cap on SS Tires. In February we ran Spec Miata and 715 PP full downforce homebuilt GT3-esque cars.
If any of this sounds interesting to you, let me know! Details for April have not been set yet but the two series that will be run are "spec" Viper ACR-X (utilizing the SRT10 '06 Viper) and "Owners" Series on Thursday, featuring cars as close as possible to what we own in real life (PP will most likely be 610 on SS).
