doe anyone here know a way of ADDING weight to a car?

what i am trying to do is replicate vauhalls vx220 turbo.

as i cant add a tubro to the car i am boosting hp via other methods which wont turn out exact but similar.
heres the stats for the turbo vers.

200hp @ 5500
184bl-ft @ 1940
2040 lbs

springs
7% stiffer front
11% stiffer rear.

just a lil' project :)

I don't think there's a way of adding weight... I dunno, you might want to see if adding bigger turbos adds weight (though it'll be very little if at all). Maybe just don't give it a car wash for a really, really long time? :D

...put a full cement bag in the front somewhere, remember its an MR car ;)

if ya wanna add weight to the car just dont do the weight reduction bit in the tune shop other than that i wouldnt know how to add weight to a car

anyone else got an idea?

yeah, i thougt as much...

ohwell, gonna have a look at it in a couple of days. :)
i figured that certain parts might add weight tho... :/

That's a good point. Would'nt adding a turbo and all that ducting, and the intercooler add more than a few pounds to the front of a car?

It should add some weight to the car...Hmm, looks like you might've stumbled upon something here ving...;)

There is no way of adding weight to a car legitimately in the game.

If you want to stretch to hybrids, you can manipulate the weight by putting a different chassis on at the correct weight, or finding a chassis/weight reduction pair that make the right weight. Only problem is it'll throw your wheelbase and track numbers out of the window.

I can strap a turbo on one if you want though. :D

And you're well out of luck with the wheelbases...

The VX220/Speedster is 850kg with a wheelbase of 2330mm. The ONLY heavier chassis I can find within tolerance is the Tuscan at 2361mm and 1100kg (Ruf RGT and 996 911 are closer in wheelbase, but 1330kg).

A standard 85% stage 3 weight reduction will bring that down to 935kg, so it's close enough on mass now (925kg) and the wheelbase is not totally stupid, but I'm not sure how the track (tread in GT3) will differ. The handling of the car will be totally different...

As far as I know there is no way of actually adding weight to a car. What you could do is simulate extra weight by increasing downforce.

A standard 85% stage 3 weight reduction...

It seems most things in GT are done by percent.
Are the first two weight reductions also 5% & 10%, respectfully?

No, it cannot be stated that easily.
Most of the cars follow one of the two rules below :

Rule 1:
Stage 1 = 93%
Stage 2 = 89%
Stage 3 = 85%

Rule 2:
Stage 1 = 97%
Stage 2 = 93%
Stage 3 = 89%

(The Vauxhall/Opel Speedster belongs to the second group).
Some other cars have specific weight loss rule. The Mine's Lancer only has stage 3 at 85% for instance.

Oh, dear. So the only way we'll know the rate for each car is to look at the DVD, for each one? Bummer!

What allows me to do this: X-port and MK's program?

What allows me to do this: X-port and MK's program?
Indeed.
Except if Famine or anyone else knows a site where the info is available, or if somebody has time to put that on-line. I could do that, but I won't have time for it until the end of July.

All the salient information is contained in mk's programme. You do not need an X-Port to view it, although you do if you want to apply it to cars and shove them into your game.

Click the word "hybrid" in my signature to get to my hybrid site. mk's GT3gEdit programme can be downloaded there, and there's a large guide o nhow to use it.
