I recently began weight training again. I'm not looking to be a bodybuilder, just trying to lose some fat and gain some muscle (I realize that I have to diet and train like a bodybuilder for a while to get the results I want). For now, I am just trying reach a base fitness level. Does anyone know of any resource that will give me some idea of what weight I should be able to lift for different exercizes. For example, a person weighing 180 should be able to bench press x lbs. in three sets of ten, squat x lbs. in three sets of ten, etc.... I have tried to search for a suitable resource, but I can't come up with anything.

i dont know that there is such a thing. the strength of a person isnt related to anything other than their strength.

just try maxing out some time, then i have seen charts that tell you to lift 70% of your 1 rep max weight 10 times, blah blah. someone else probably knows this better.
