I was just wondering if lighter cars handle better 'cos i never give my cars the lightweight stages for some reason.

And another thing, in some of my cars, i get into 6th gear and i'm maxin out at 300km/h and it won't go up any more. WHY IS THIS?

Yes, cars do handle better when their lighter... Less wheight means less inertia (stress, pressure, whatever you wanna call it) applied on the tires during cornering. Adding downforce makes handling better because it pushes down on the tires without adding any inertia.

As for the speed, thats because of drag. Most sports cars have a 6th gear thats basically useless when stock. The main purpose of the 6th gear (i think, I could be wrong) is to drop off revs at top speed, and to provide plenty of room to go faster when modified without changing the ratios.

Lightweight cars give you quicker accelaration and
better handling. By putting lightweight stages on your car you will actually add power without adding hp because you will be able to go faster.

On pretty much any car i'd say get stage 1&2 and forget about 3 unless you got alot of cash. On your slow top speed cars you need the adjustable or race tranny, then you can tune gears individually or use the auto gear set to get higher top speed.

weight reduction is a must have for all my cars, i to only go for stages 1 & 2
try getting two of the same car add weight reduction to one of them, then compare them round the same track. you will be surprised at how much of a difference it makes.

No... the only way to add power is to... add power:p Wheight reduction inmproves the power to wheight ratio, which is the most determining factor in a car's acceleration, but its not actual power, just less mass for the power to move:)

Better handling, quicker acceleration and less tyre wear. For those reasons it is a neccessary upgrade to get.

This is it exactly. If you're on a tight budget, and need to improve your car's acceleration, braking, and cornering grip, you could:
(a) buy engine upgrades, brake upgrades, new tyres
(b) reduce the car's weight.

It's not a tough call...

The only time I've regretted doing full weight reduction was with my Impreza 22B while I was doing the Rally races. It caught air WAY too easily, and for some reason it didn't steer that great when the tires weren't touching the gravel... :D Other than that, I always go to Stage3 weight reduction.

Totally agree - cars are much neater to drive when they're lighter.

BTW Mr Pushrod - love the avatar. Can't get enough of homies riding their pushbikes into stuff and falling down!! Fantastic!

You should try widening the gears...
