So I've had my G27 for a few years and I'm used to the rumbles and noises that it makes but recently I've come across something I can't live with.
Unpowered the wheel rotates smoothly and the same during calibration. However when I turn the wheel during a race I can 'feel' individual cogs of the gears 'click' through. There isn't any noise but it's driving me nuts!
The main problem is that I can't properly explain what it feels like. I've opened it up and I can't see anything obstructing the gears but it could be motor related.
Please I need to get this sorted if I want a shot at GT Academy. Thanks
This sounds similar to what I went through when my G25 bit the dust, it sounds like the brushes in the motor may be the issue. If the brushes cant make constant contact then it becomes jittery, the feedback goes on off, on off.
What I found inside my G25 motor was that one of the brushes had worn down to nothing and the copper tab had gotten so thin it overheated and bent away from the shaft.
Replacement motors are very hard to find since its a very specific motor. I had entertained getting a RC motor for its brushes but I ended up getting a deal on a new wheel so I never went through with it.

Thanks for the reply mate. I had a look through the inspection holes of the motors and and the brushes I could see (2 on each motor) looked alright but I think I'll have to take them apart and get a better look. I'm confident that it's motor related but I suck at figuring out electrical stuff. Wish me luck.
Same happened to my first one. Felt like a ratchet, but smooth when it was unpowered. I also think it's one of the motors. I used it like that for a long time, then the up shift paddle stopped working and I found a used craigslist replacement.
Logitech can't even supply replacement parts. How rude!
