First of all, please allow me to apologize for the extended downtime of the forums. I ran in to many problems along the way which cost several hours to iron out, so I wasn't able to get everything done in the timeframe that I anticipated. But, with all of that out of the way now, here we are with our new look! Here's a quick rundown of a few things that, besides the overall appearance of the site, have been changed...

New and Renamed Forums
--- Suggestions & Feedback renamed and moved to Questions & Comments
--- New Grand Prix Legends forum.
--- New Live for Speed forum.
--- New Need for Speed forum.
--- New F1 2001/2002 forum.
--- New Auto News forum.
--- Automotive Forum renamed to Cars in General.
--- New Automotive Videos & Photos forum.
--- Multimedia Forum moved and renamed to Image Editing.
--- New Photoshop Competitions forum.
--- New Photography & Graphics forum.
--- Current Events forum renamed to Opinions forum.

I am still in the process of adding and re-arranging forums, so do not be alarmed if a forum that I said was coming in GTP5 has not shown up yet.

New URL's for Forums and Threads
Some of the more observant users will have already noticed that our forums are no longer running on the http://forums.gtplanet.net subdomain, but are now located at https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/. You may also notice that threads and individual forums have different URL's as well, with a .html extension (i.e. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/f-2.html and https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/t-16710.html), although you will occasionally see URL's in the old form. When linking to a thread, please use the new URL with the .html extension, although it is not required and both URL's will work just fine.

With the move from the forums.gtplanet.net subdomain, and a new format for threads and forums, you may be concerned about any old links that you have posted here or on other websites. However, there is no need to worry about this as all traffic will be automatically re-routed to its new appropriate URL.

GTP Lite
A new style has been created for GTPlanet, known as GTP Lite. It is a trimed down version of our new design, streamlined to be efficient, fast, and functional for users with a slow computer or internet connection. Read this thread for more information on GTP Lite and how to change your settings to use it yourself.

New Signature Guidelines
As you have probably noticed, all old signatures have been deleted to give you the opportunity to create a new signature that is in compliance with our new signature guidelines. Read this thread for more information.

Streamlined Smilies
Our smilies database has been trimmed down to allow you to find the smilie you need much faster, by only including smilies which display a specific emotion. You can still use all of your old favorite smilies in your messages by clicking on "Even More Smilies" below the smilies box when composing a post.

GTP Insider
Keep an eye out for the all-new GTP Insider, a weekly email newsletter keeping you up-to-date on the latest happenings in the GTPlanet community! More info coming soon...

With all of that said, I do hope you enjoy GTP's new look and feel. After more than 6 months of development, it is great to finally get it online. Please post your comments, questions, and suggestions in the Questions & Comments forum. The rest of the site, at https://www.gtplanet.net, will be updated with a new look and feel as well, later tonight.

Wow! Great work Jordan!

Trust me, this was well worth the wait. 👍

Jordan, this upgrade is simply amazing, it's so clean and the colors blend in perfectly together, I just came to the site just now so I'll have a look around at the new rules to see whats changed but I love this setup. Your the man Jordan

Awesome! I, and a few other members got a bit concerned when we saw GTP5 was delayed. I even tried tracking you down at the vBulletin.com forums. (Grin, grin.)

But I'm glad to see everything worked out. :)

The layout is sweet! I like what you've done with the top frame, and the colours. Despite of red being an often cause of sore eyes on some sites I think you've kept it nice and calm. Congratulations!

I like that fact the the picture in the top changes. I was starting to get sick of that backwards porsche. But theres only 4 cars in it, but I'm not too picky it wont worry me.

, I was doing the exact same thing! :D

Well, some things will take some getting used to, like the new Express Reply and forum setup changing from what i knew for ages, but it's pretty cool.

The only pet peeve i have is that the usernames have a pretty big text compared to everything else...

I must say, this new layout looks awsome Jordan!way to go!the fading of different cars showing at the top of the page looks nifty too ^_^!congrats on a swell job =D

Haha, does that label us as stalkers?
Nah, just overly-eager children looking after their wemaster. ;)

 Great site Jordan, i really like the change and it looks a lot different than another site i go to which uses the same vbulletin now and it does not match this forum at all.

Dont get me wrong, the site is ****in great but I want to know something. Is it just me or does GTP5 look like it was designed by MSN?

Yeah, they have a lot of the same icons in Windows XP, but I think they make the place look more oraganized and cleaner.

Nice work Jordan! - You did well.
I reackon the sites 'buttons' look all a lil too Win XP for me! - As long as I aint see no Linux Penguins I'll be happy!

This is a nice change to GTP and a good one that should last! - And what happened to the seasonal touch - the snowflakes and blue!
