I may have had half a bottle of Vodka that night, but I'm sure it wasn't the alcohol causing these effects.

That's a weird one, can't say I've had it before.

I've had a sound problem a little like this as well which happened on the Indy Oval in the Super GT A-spec series (or the seasonal) where the engine sound disappears. It does come back at low revs but as you accelerate up the rev range it quickly disappears leaving only gear whine and nothing else.

I've had it happen before. Only solution is to make another lobby. I forget how it happens too, I used to know how.
