Surprise. I was running the Schwarzwald League B 1 lapper around the Nordschleife over and over for fun in my stock Yellowbird, pretending I was the guy in that video. Anyways, like the 4th race I noticed my wheel having no force feedback when I turned right, and shortly thereafter I smelled that magical burning electrics smell.

Yup, looks like I'm out a wheel. It lasted a damn long time though through alot of abuse. I learned alot about car control with it and fancy myself fairly skilled now as far as Gran Turismo is concerned. It couldn't have broken at a better time either as I'm back off to school tomorrow and I don't take my PS3 with me anyways so it's not like I'm missing out on any playing time.

Anyways, I haven't paid much attention to the wheel market of late - last time I was paying attention the G27 had just come out - so I'm wondering what the best buy is now? I'll be buying around Thanksgiving or Christmas time when I'm off school. Definitely going to be upgrading from the DFGT though, I want a leather wrapped wheel. Though still not looking to get the top of the line 600 dollar wheel if something that ridiculously priced even exists. Hopefully between 200-400, I think that's where the G25 and G27 fell right?

3 pedals would be awesome too but I remember there being issues with compatibility. As long as I have good paddle shifters I'll be fine and anything else is just a bonus.

What are my options? :dopey: If you would be so kind..

Last I checked, DFGT's were used on Amazon for around $80-$90, and that's the cheapest PS3 wheel I looked at.

Here in Aus there is a site that has the G27 on sale occasionally for $140...i keep missing it though :/ Here's the site, not sure if they send OS though. Not there at the moment but if you're not in a rush it pops up now and then.

They have them on sale at Future shop in Canada for $99.00.

you can get a CSR for 250 with pedals

If you call Logitech and tell them that your DFGT broke, they will give you a G27 for 50% off. You don't need a receipt or anything and it doesn't matter if you're still under warranty.

No receipt or return busted DFGT or anything??? Cause mine is getting a bit dodgy and I know I could euthanize it quite easily. 💡

Wow. I did some independent research on top of this thread and decided I wanted to go for a G27. I'm definitely going to be trying this once I get back to my PS3. Thanks for the heads up.

Yep! I've done it myself, and so have several of my buddies.

Awesome. Do you remember how much you paid? If you don't mind me asking

You fried the circuit board. I did the same thing being stupid and trying to flip a R33 down the straightway on SSRX in practice mode. Four really really fast 900 degree rotations later same thing. The motor was fine the board wasn't
