To me it looks and sounds great and once you put the break bias to the front it’s good to drive. So why does no one use it?
Drives nice at Interlagos. I like it but I never use the meta cars. Not purposely anyway. The Group 3 one? Nerfed to death by BoP. I only ever see them when I get downgraded and race against low-level players who don't give a damn about meta cars and use what they like/have/want![]()
You do have to be smooth but I quite like that.I love it, but when I use it in the tire wear races, I find the rear loses far too much grip once the tires wear down.
You do have to be smooth.
It's okay at InterlagosIts a bad Group 3 car right now, the ball is in PD's court to fix that, that's the only reason really.

C/SI have to ask, what driver rating?
Thanks for the back handed compliment.Yeah, thought it'd be lower, in S class there's absolutely no chance you get that thing near the Top 5 because its that slow
In lower ranks its easy to win in the worse cars because the guys in the meta cars aren't driving them correctly haha
Good result though regardless!
Thanks for the back handed compliment.
I drove the R8 last week for the manufacturer's races. Certain I was the only S class driver to attempt the Audi and I struggled to be competitive. My general impressions:
Pros:
- It looks nice, especially in the Flying Lizard livery. That's why I tried it.
- The gearing fits well enough considering its nature. Nice and tall similar to 911.
- Stable in certain places, mainly if corner doesn't have much undulations.
Cons:
- Lift off oversteer/weight transfer. R8 requires adapting driving style because the rear can overrotate, even with minimal wheel input. Had so many problems exiting Suzuka hairpin, for example. Basically hinders its handling which should be its strong point.
- Rear tire wear. Recurring theme with MR cars but considering prior point, felt like R8 was one of the worse offenders. Factoring in first con, it is not fun to drive at all once there's any wear in the rear.
- Fuel consumption. Power band requires revving it high because there's no power elsewhere, so can't conserve. No noted advantage in burn rate and may even be more thirsty than the average.
- Slow in the straight. PD actually reduced the power in this car last time they adjusted its BOP and it makes no sense once you consider all the other cons. I got passed by a Viper in an FIA race at Dragon Trail like I was standing still even though I got off the final corner better.
I'll leave with these two vids. For a frame of reference, Suzuka is my strong track and I should be able to get in the 2:00-2:01 range in-race with most other cars. Kyoto was a destroyer of rear tires and my Q time was about a second off I could've run in another car.
Got hit from behind past 130R because I had to slow down. Must have caused havoc behind me looking at the arrows in the radar. For the life of me I cant figure out why you got a 2.00 second penalty on lap 2 going thru 130R unless the penalty system thought you were brake checking the Viper cause the R8 top speed is so slow.![]()

It's hard to see in the video but I was crossing my fingers every time I entered the hairpin I could hang onto the R8 all the way through. T1, I was overly conservative there in the race because even in qualifying, I went off about a third of the time every time I pushed it.
