Ok, I'll start by saying that I never really thought that playing online was so heavily packed with little children and that the majority of people who post on here over-radiate it somewhat.

So here's my tales of two lobbies mere minutes from eachother.

Curse of the child in an X1:

So I join a lobby on Spa and I take out my Tamora just to have a little drive about, from out of nowhere an X1 goes flying past me about 150MPH quicker than I can manage around the corner. He then slams the brakes on and let's me go past, theres me thinking he is going to follow me about just like I sometimes do online. But no, all he wanted to do was get a run up on me and blast me into the sand pit as hard as he can. Flying lap-ruined.

Curse of the sore losers:

This time I join a Karting lobby on the new Space Karts track. After about 10 minutes of hot-lapping and tuning my go-karts transmission for this variation of Space Karts the race countdown begins. 3-2-1-Go it's a mad dash into the first corner when we lose 3 of the 6 participants, the host of the room then starts trying to take me out repeatedly until his misses and takes out the other guy up front with us. Fast-forwarding the story I ended up winning the 5 lap race by about 14 seconds, how do they congratulate me, yep you got it, by kicking me.

I think I have just about had it with GT5 online, I usually only play with friends but I sometimes go into random ones, usually a free run lobby.

Dollars, yen and euros. That's a lot of currency.

I hate the idiots that run backwards and wreck people. Rather than being bitter about it, I follow them around and blare my horn non-stop. After about a minute of that they typically leave the lobby.

Most problems could be solved with a host who is actually in attendance. I've never seen ramming X1's in a lobby where someone is actually there and able to kick. Too many idiots make rooms and set their controller down... I'll never understand why.

I know the feeling mate.
Try and find open lobbies where your friends are in.
There are some decent open lobbies out there, you just need to find them.

PS. Try some of the links in my signature. On- and offline races in there. ;)

Hmm, I wonder why the title says "euro" instead of the symbol?

The lobby I was in had a host that was just sitting in the first bit. He could have taken charge but instead he was probably downstairs watching tv and eating a sandwich.

Get a few people from over here on your PSN friends list, then start or join a private lounge. Clean racing and/or casual driving guaranteed. 👍

Yup, do this^^^^^^^.👍 The public lobbies is no place to be finding clean racing.:indiff:

I was driving at Spa yesterday and I kept the same car the whole time we were just driving around the track. I had the fastest time and the host kept changing cars and he would wait on me at the start finish line (I guess to try and keep pace with me) then after about 5 different cars he starts corner cutting, and I mean hauling ass through the sand traps.

Finally he starts the race and we get to the second S curves after the straight and plows in to the back of me and sends me into the trap. So I send a quick text that host is corner cutting and plowing and I catch back up pass and then he does it again. At this point I was pretty pissed. So I slam him in the wall and keep him there trapped maybe that will teach him. Race ended, and he never kicked me so I politely left the room.

I would have left earlier but I don't have Spa. :)

I don't have Spa either so ATM it's joining random lobbies with it on, the main reason I join the free run lobbies is because it's a great way to learn the different lines and using different cars.

Maybe they should have rooms with age brackets because lets face it most of these idiots are kids !

I agree. I'm 12, nearly 13, and I ALWAYS race cleanly. I never ram, I never curse or swear, and I accept defeat. When I race I give people room, when I drift I steer clear of others. The problem for me, is that because I'm 12, I get a bad rep. If anybody wants to add me, then feel free, I won't be on for aprox: 1-2 weeks, as I'm on holiday, but I will accept when I get back, just tell me in your request that you saw this on GTplanet so I know who to add. Clean racers only please :D

You realise this forum has an age limit of 13?

Uh oh, BUSTED :S

Never had such issues online. When i turn the Filter on "SRF off" the level of skill online is much higher than with SRF on. Also, look for lobbies with strict restrictions and names. Such as "Gt 500 600 PP" or something like that. In these lobbies, the players are rather fair and good. I have also never seen ONE X2010 online. So i don't know, which lobbies you join :D

I'm 14 and I always race as clean as possible. I know what you're saying though, i'll be in a NASCAR room and some kid I'm beating will just wait at the exit of a corner and take me out when he's bored with losing, it's pathetic. Don't they have anything better to do with their time?

And if you're looking for good racing, check out the series forum, or my IndyCar series (shameless plug) ;)

This is one of the dangers of playing games online. It doesn't matter what it is, you'll always get one idiot who wants to ruin it for everyone else.

Here's a good reason why kiddies shouldn't goad people online. That said there are plenty of adult tw@t's out there as well, I just think the kids make more noise about it.
