Today at work we got the new display standee's. Zelda: Windwaker, Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb, along with various game holding standees. (I work at a gamestop)

All the standees were set up, and there was no more room for the Indy one, so I gladly took it home. Got no idea what i am gonna do with a big Indy display, but it is sure as hell looks cool next to the Devil May Cry 2 one I swiped:D

I'm gonna need a whole 'nother room just for the crap i bring home:D
 
Yes, and no. Yes if they pay for it, no if they just send it to us. Generally they pay for shelf space i.e. they want more of the games visible.

We throw so much crap away, its not funny. All the old magazines, game guides (i always take them home, you never know if i will need one.), oversized display boxes (got lots of them too), posters and even broken systems (only NES's for some reason, i got a stack of 7 that need to be fixed) people try to trade in but end up throwing away

But hey, it's not my ass, I ALWAYSclear it with the manager.
 
Hey Space, can you tell me what your store would pay for my games?

There's a Gamestop near me, and I took the games in there to sell, and, well, I was quite disappointed.

I'll tell you the full thing after you tell me the prices. :)

Ohh, and these games are mint, everything in the cases.

$5.75/hr x 10-15 hrs. a week x bi-weekly pay = no money. It's an easy job, not bad at all. But I need money...

Then again, I worked there four and a half years ago... :lol:

In Game (Fomerly EB over here) they had these lifesize solid snake figures. Would you take that home?

Actually i make $6.75, i walked in for a job, he said ok, your hired, how about $6.75 an hour?:)

I get close to 20 hours a week now.

I'll look, but whatever your gamestop would pay, mine most likely will too. but then again it has to do with the inventory.

I really dont mind, since i make almost a dollar more than some of the people in the store.
 
"gamestops" lure young adults with the bennies of first access to newly released games. I'm sure it's not about the pay. ;) Besides, it sure beats flipping patties at Micky D's!
 
The only reason I ask, Space, is because when I went in there, the kid working there said "It's a $1 off if the CD is scratched" so I'm like ok, they aren't scratched, and he says "$5, $3, $2, $1, $3, $3" and I was like "I'll just keep them..."

$5 for NFS HP, and I saw a used one for sale in the same damn store for $15 with the case all cracked. What a rip off...

That's the way places like that make their money. They rip you off, severely, and sell for 3 times what they paid for them to make a profit.

All of the game stores around here do that too. Offer you $10 for a $70 game, and if you're stupid enough to go for it...you see your game for sale the next day for $40-50. That's why I just keep my games.
