What a good night!

Not only am I now officially on a week-long vacation, but I had a nice run of luck in the game tonight.

I decided to tackle the Historic Race Car series tonight in both A and B-Spec. I had already completed the first race in both specs, but still had to face the dreaded Cote d'Azure. Starting with A-Spec, I lightly tuned my Toyota 7 and proceeded to crush the competition. I manged to get into first place before the first chicane, and from there on I only had to run a clean race while preventing the Chapparal from passing me. Managed to gold it and at the same time earn my level 17 ticket for golding the full expert series. I was expecting a "meh" reward, but I received the 2000 ARTA NSX, which is a very nice car. 👍

Moving on to B-Spec, I was not expecting good things. The best my Bob had placed previously was 8th. I cycled the race until the Chapparal 2J was in the third row, then unleashed Bob. To my amazement (and with some serious prodding) he managed to take the lead in the 3rd lap. Dumbfounded I watched him open up a 13.5 second lead and eventually win. As with the A-Spec race, this earned my level 17 ticket for golding the full series. The random generator tossed me the 2002 Abt Audi TT-R Touring Car which I can't wait to drive. The best thing, though, is the reward for completing the Historic series in B-Spec...an absolutely gorgeous (and premium) 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2. Having this beautiful car in the garage makes me a very happy man. 👍

Yeah, I got one yesterday, it is a beauty! Plus I was able to grab a Formula GT and A Nardo, good day for me :>) Also just won a McLaren F1 and a Nismo 380RS Super Leggera.

I started the Suzuka 1000km earlier and B-Spec Bob should be done with it in about 2 hours. Hoping to make the most of the weekend and get to B-Spec 33.

Can you tell us the tuning/upgrades you used for the B-spec races? Also, what level is your driver?

I've beatin that race some 9 times now. It's what ya gotta do come leveling up and in between mid levels between the next race. In fact I'm doing it again right now with my X1. I did the 24hr Le Mans and was just shy from hitting level 36. So I did the Suzuka again. :indiff:

OP, good job on the wins! I have one, just one race to win in all of the Expert races..... it's that very one you speak of, lol.... The Cote d'Azure in Historic. I have many cars, yet I've not been able to get my Toyota 7 out in front before the turn. Then he can never catch up to that J2.

i wish you would have told me that right after i bought my Mclaren F1... i dont mind going to stage 3 weight-lose or anything else i did to it... except going for over-kill with stage 3 engine tuning. it doesnt have enough downforce alone with the fact that i cant set up suspensions very well have made it very... unpleasant to drive. i LOVED driving it bare-stock. i loved it like a first born. :(

The B-Spec driver I used was level 20 at the time. I'd say he is the least skilled of the four drivers I'm currently training. He seems hesitant to pass even on straights with no other traffic around.

I used the Toyota 7 with the high RPM supercharger installed, along with medium racing tires. The only other tuning was to add some camber (1.0 in the front, 0.6 in the rear, IIRC) and 0.10 front toe-in. I think I may have adjusted the transmission top speed down a couple of notches as well

The Grand Valley race really wasn't that difficut--my ususal B-spec strategy is to give Bob an overtake command while the countdown is running so that he will overtake as many cars as he can immediately after the start. This is usually followed by pace-ups (and, occasionally, an overtake) until I get him in the lead. I don't mind sending him too many commands (which saps his strength) until I get him in the lead. Once there, I let him cool down natually and only send a command if necessary.

I applied the same strategy to Cote d'Azure, but I think they key is to restart the race until you get the Chapparal 2J in the third row. This gives you the best chance of getting around him early, and if he crashes in the chicanes it will be more advantageous if he is behind you because Bob (at least mine) has a hard time in that situation and will often just sit there and let the field go around first. :crazy:

In my race, once I got into first Bob built up a huge lead and it was smooth sailing for the last 5 laps or so.
