How are the other drivers performing in your career? I'm in my first season at the back thanks to crashes and being a rookie in a medium career (not all the way though). At mine there's a 3 point hole between Massa and Fisichella. Alonso and Schumacher are close too.
 
I think the OP is asking how does the game make the AI drivers play and where does it place them in the championships. Apparently, in his current career/championship, the WDC standings are 1. Massa; 2. Fisi; 3. Alonso; 4. Schumacher

I have very litle experience in the game but the litle I have (and waht you report) tell me that the game clearly puts the Renaults and Ferraris up front, but sets no difference (in race pace) between the drivers of each team.
