What about this for the next GT game?

This is my first thread on GTP, so hi to all you guys and girls!

I know GT5 is nearly out (honestly can't wait!!), but I was just think how much fun it would be to race in one of these. Online would be a real blast!! They could easily run on the off road tracks, but a few specially made tracks would be great. I think they were in the Dirt series by Codemaster, but with GT physics it would be brilliant!!

I don't know if this would stray away from the GT series too much, but even if they modeled one, like with the Escudo Hill Climb dirt car. What do you think?

Yeah, I can see it happening. As long as there are no E30 M3s, F50s, CTS-Vs or Zonda Fs then Kaz Y will be only too willing to put this series in GT6 ;)

I'd much prefer if they could expand on other series first, Formula 1 and Indy for example.

But hey, why not include this? It'd be fun testing an F1 or Ruf on those dirt courses.

P.S does anyone know if we can run say a Ferrari, Nascar or F1 on a rally course? It'd be fun to test the physics.

I heard somewhere that Nascar insisted their cars be able to run on all tracks. But as to whether that includes rally courses..... well id LIKE to think so, but who knows. Dubious id say.

Edit: Wrote this while the video was loading. Thoughts on that.... no, we can do without it thanks! It works very well in the 'DiRT' games, and is enjoyable. But in a more serious racer like GT i think it would be out of place. Its the kinda race series that reminds me of everything i hate about special stages in rallying.... its designed around getting as many people in to watch cars drive in circles and make loud noises. And did i even see pyros being let off in those videos?! Tacky.

We have seen Mclaren F1 on rally course.

Hey all, new to the forums but I have been following gran turismo since #2.

On the subject of truck based racing, I don't think it should be in GT6. If PD wanted to explore the possibility of this type of racing, it should be in a separate game, although they would use the same physics engine for both. I think it would just bulk up the game too much, just putting too much into one game. What the game has at present is enough, in fact I think it was enough without introducing oval track stock car racing. While that is fun to watch in real life, I find it incredibly boring in a game environment. Maybe GT5 will change that.

I think this thread was created at the wrong time. I mean, GT5 hasn't even been officially released yet. You should wait a little longer and then create it.

But the idea is nice. I think it would be a great addition for online fun :p.

Just from watching that video I thought of something. Was there a rating system in GT5 Prologue? Like one where you would rate drivers based on your experience with them so you know which drivers are clean drivers or not? Sorry if this is waaay off topic I just wanted to know because if they implemented this i'm pretty sure the races would be hectic.

Hell yeah.
I would welcome any kind of ground based racing into GT.
We should also get full blow tanks, I want to go around a corner in a 72 ton Abrams tank....alright, that might be a little much, but the truck thing would be great.

Those dirt trucks. . . you want them in GT? My only response is, only if I can lower it and drift it anywhere. XD Its a good performance vehicle and while maybe not as good as the Impreza they are by far capable of handling themselves on dirt. Personally I'd say it'd be a good add. Specially Since GT is doing its best to be a jack of all trades. I'd say its a good idea. However, I think with it they should add at least one course be it real or fantasy that would be for that kind of vehicle. Don't limit it to only that vehicle but make it for that vehicle. I don't see why it shouldn't be in it. It'd be fun!!!

Dirt2 already does offroad trucks quite nicely...

Honestly GT hasn't really put much into offroad physics so far as I can tell ( all the courses are at best flat dirt) so this would be quite the jump...

Well from the few people that commented, it seems to be mixed. I totally understand that GT is heavily based on cars, but has a few exceptions like the Suzuki Escudo. That being the main reason to include one, but like someone said it would have to go hand in hand with a special race course.

If PD decide to branch out a bit more in the next GT game, then maybe - but I think there are other more important features and cars that need to be included before. It would be fun online though.

ican live without this.

but if they got time ect. why not add those cars...? :)

although personally i think they should add the "missing" cars at least, then think about additions.

Yer I think Porsche are the big ones to be added, so I totally understand. If PD get time it could be fun, but there are more important things missing for PD to work on.

Umm.. No. As already said, Dirt 2 does this quite well. And in my opinion too; it's not as funny as it looks.
GT [#] - The Real Driving Simulator. Of course you can simulate that dirt racing too, but rally way more intriguing.

To be honest I've always considered GT to be the master of the asphalt. Dirt racing doesn't really fit into the vibe as well in my opinion. That's not to say it's any less of a sport, and I wouldn't complain if it was added... it's just that GT has always seemed to give me an image of more urban environments.

But Rally is already there, so......whats your point?
