What all do i need to go online?

Ok with the upcoming release of GT4, I think I'm finally going to bite the bullet and shell out the necessary dough to purchase all of the necessary online prephirals and finally do some online gaming. Seeing as how my birthday is coming this Wednesday, I see it as the perfect opportunity. Only problem is I have no clue what I need. So could anyone please come and help this lost soul?
 
  • Sony PS2 Network Adapter
  • Broadband Internet connection
  • Cat-5 Ethernet cable
  • Broadband router
 
I'm sorry to sound so clueless as I'm sure its annoying but when you say broadband internet connection, does that mean that it will work with a Motorola SB5100 SURFboard Cable Modem? And what exactly is a broadband router?

Yes, it will work with a cable modem. And a broadband router is a router that lets you put multiple comps online using the same cable modem. You don't have to get a router if you don't want to. You could jsut use same cable connector and put it in your adapter, the only thing is that your computer wont be online , but your ps2 will. Thats why a router is a better idea, so you can have both online at the same time.

Also, the reason why you shouldn't get the GO-Net is because it can only play CERTAIN games that have the online capability and won't be able to play the new online games coming up(but I doubt they sell this product anymore). So when you ask sombody at the store, ask for the official PS2 Network Adapter.
