Welcome to WHaT and Ameer’s Driver's Club. In this club you'll be able to join lobbies in Gran Turismo 6 for a variety of different driving activities.

Summary

When we're cruising, we'll cruise in groups around a track at a steady speed for pleasure. Depending on the mood, there may or may not be a theme. A theme will be sedans, hot hatches, American cars, etc.

Tracks

We'll be cruising on Special Stage X (SSRX), Special Stage Route 7 (SSR7), Nurburgring Nordschleife (Nurb), and Matterhorn.

SSRX - meet at the 1000 meter mark and wait until everyone has arrived.

SSR7 - meet at the first hairpin and wait until everyone's there.

Nurb - meet at the S/F line and wait until everyone's there.

Matterhorn - meet at the S/F line and wait until everyone's there.

La Sarthe - meet the at Dunlop Curve and wait until everyone's there.

Summary

Cops is one of the most commonly played modes in this club. When we're doing cops, you must drive realistically. Civilians drive around the track, cops will pull people over who are breaking laws. Some roleplaying is recommended to make it fun.

About the GTPD

The Gran Turismo Police department is the police force that patrols the streets. Their job is to take out anyone breaking the law by any means necessary. GTPD’s current police chief is Ameer. All officers take orders from the chief.

Pursuit

When an officer sees a suspect breaking a law, he/she must first honk their horn (and/or flash their lights) to indicate you're pulling them over. If they do not stop after a few seconds, the pursuit begins. Don’t go ramming the suspect right away. When things start escalating, it’s time for the heavy stuff. You’ll be allowed to use the PIT maneuver, call for backup, whatever. Use your tacitcs and skills to end the pursuit as fast as possible. Also, try to chase the suspect as realistically as possible, as in, don’t go head on into them!

If the suspects reaches a speed below 5 mph (be honest, racers), they’re busted. When you've pulled over a suspect, you must post the following in both the lobby chat and radio:

PSN/GTP Username: x/3 "reason"

When a pursuit lasts 10 or more minutes, it'll automatically become 3 tickets when the suspect is caught. After getting 3 tickets, the suspect’s vehicle is impounded until the track is changed and will have to pick another one.

(Click to see cars in each class)

All cop cars' bodies must be black and have blue wheels.

Radio

Even though creating a chat room is optional, It’s recommended for one of the cops to create a chat room for all officers to discuss things privately. Things like tickets, cars to be on the lookout for, etc, should all go here. If you’re a cop and weren't invited, you may ask for an invitation.

When going on or off duty, post this in both radio and lobby chat:

Unit ### is on/off duty.

A pursuit is when everyone in the lobby is a cop, except one person, the street racer. The goal is for the Street Racer to evade the cops.
Tracks

Only one track will be used; Circuit de la Sarthe (with chicanes). The street racer must drive through the chicanes similar to when it's cops. The starting pointing at the "Restaurant - Bar" parking lot (road in front of "Restaurant - Bar") (Tetre Rouge) and the finish line will be at the beginning of the Porsche Curve.

Map image
Procedure

The street racer will park at the "Restaurant - Bar" facing the right direction. Everyone else, the cops, will find places to park their cars, set up roadblocks, speed traps, etc. to try and stop the street racer. Once everyone's ready the street racer will start to drive. One cop must be with the street racer at the start. All the cops must try and ram the street racer. When the street racer's speedometer goes below 5 miles per hour, the street racer is busted. The only two ways for the street racer to evade the cops is to either have the cops completely lose sight of the street racer or have the street racer reach the Porsche Curves.

If you read this far into the rules, please have a smiley face somewhere on your application!

Cars

The street racer may drive any street legal car (no touring cars/race cars). It also must not be a hybrid. It's only allowed if only the looks of the car is modified (no wing, no bumper, etc.).

The cops may drive any street legal car (no RMs, TCs, or race cars). Only 2 people will be allowed to drive a SUV (RS6 Avant, Range Rover Concept, etc.).

A track day is when a race track is open for the public to pay a small fee to drive freely around the track. Everyone will try and post the fastest lap.

When a faster car approaches from behind, please either completely stop on the side of the track or give them enough room for the to pass.

  • Custom wheel rims (standard, not +1 or 2 inches) are allowed.
  • Painting of body is allowed.

Event Instructions:
(YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES)

Note: This may seem confusing at first, so don't worry about being perfect your first time. Come join & ask questions if you're not sure. Fellow racers will be happy to help you sort out the process & get the hang of things. 👍
  1. Have ready all cars in the list(s) scheduled to be raced in the session.
  2. Have the list being used nearby you while racing.
  3. Car assignments are determined by finishing position of the previous race. (Example: 1st place will drive list car #1 in the next race, 2nd place #2, and so forth.)
  4. If you did not participate in the previous race, you are assigned car #3 from the list being used.
  5. Any finishing position at a larger number than cars on the list, will use the last car on the list. (Example: if the list only goes to 10 cars, 10th place will use #10, and so will 11th or 12th, and so forth.)
  6. Use the list to get in the proper car for the next race, and enter the pit quickly (before chatting, etc) so others can check your car.
  7. Check the car assignment of the driver who finished ahead of you in the previous race, and inform that driver if they are not in the proper car. (In the case of 1st place, that driver checks last place.)
  8. If you're unsure of your car assignment, or the car list being used, please ask.
  9. Driver is disqualified if they race in the incorrect car.
  10. Cars not on the list being used are prohibited. No exceptions.

Dear fellow club members and ProjectWHaT,

I have decided that now is the time I retire from my position in this club as an “administrator”. This is an official notice from me, not some joke or prank pulled off with some friends. Please continue reading for more.

It has come to my attention that things around here haven’t been up-to-date or complete. Lots of things are still a work in progress after 7 months of this thread being published. The OP has been left scattered with the phrases “coming soon” or “work in progress”. Nothing has been updated. Another thing I dislike is the idea of making it an entire drivers club. Not just a cops and cruise club. The focus isn’t too clear in a drivers clubs. It’s been pretty hard to get some legit cruising.

Things haven’t been the same as they were before. I just don’t get the same feeling as I did before. By feeling I mean the atmosphere. A while ago, everyone just got along and enjoyed cruising in the rain at Sarthe. Now, there’s someone who hates someone else. There just isn’t a family anymore it seems.

To me, this club feels like a corporation. Everything has to be split up into percentages or numbers. If any members here thought that I own half and WHaT owns the other half, you’re wrong. I only own 10% percent of the club. This shows me how power-hungry WHaT is. Just because you own 90% doesn’t mean you’re making things any better. You have all this power but you’re doing nothing to contribute. Even some of the club moderators have shown their grief in the moderator and admin conversation.

You claim you do most of the work, but in reality, you don’t. We’re not your “Congress that just passes things.” We come up with thoughts and ideas. You didn’t make the whole OP by yourself. Lots of it was from Ace’s or Beav’s. You just want your name to be labeled on everything you see in front of you. That’s not how running a club works.

WHaT, your time ruling the cruising community is up.

It’s time to get Legit again.
-Ameer

You're on the waiting list until a member doesn't reapply in time

My PS3's still a bit wonky (freezes randomly and then sometimes doesn't turn back on). But I was able to stay on for a whole hour! I might open a lobby in a few minutes. If I go offline randomly, it's because I froze.

The useful police codes link takes you to the wrong spreadsheet.
I can't find a way to make it link directly to the right sheet. You'll have to pick the Codes tab on the bottom.

FIRST LOBBY'S UP!

My PS3 might freeze randomly. Don't panic if I suddenly go offline. If I stay offline, you may panic.

The member list spreadsheet will be the most up to date member list! Ignore the old OP, I barely have time to go on the computer.

@ameer67 - oh that's wonderful :P

Also, @superstreet556, I'll see your 7'20 CTR Nurb-lab and raise you a 7'15 :mischievous:

Yes, it happened - Yes, I have proof - No, no tricks, all clean, just switched to High RPM & LSD again. 👍
