What are some good games to Download off the Playstation Network.

Hello all.

Yesterday i went out and got me some Playstation Network cards to get DLC for one of my games.I've never got any games before so i'm not sure what to look for as i've never checked the store for games.

In your opinion what are some great games i could look for?I've got $40.00 on my account and would like to get 3 and maybe 4 games to pass the time.Not sure of the cost,but 3 would be good if i can get that many.
 
Battlefield 1943 is fun. It is just a simple but fun fps. It has destructible environments, vehicles, and large maps. It's a good shooter. It only has three maps though. And I think it has three classes too. assault, engineer, sniper? Maybe a medic too. I don't remember. but it is worth the $15. Oh and it is just multiplayer.

Man that sounded good til you got to the Multiplayer part.I'm a bit old fashioned and i'm not too keen on Multiplayer gaming.

One question.I just looked up Plants Vs. Zombies on the net and that looked kind of fun.What's your take on that one?

Idk never tried that. From what I have heard it seems to be a popular game.
 
Plants Vs. Zombies is one of the best downloadable games on the PSN in my opinion. Here's a "review" of the game from my favorite reviewer...

Peggle (and the Peggle Nights DLC) is also an extremely fun game. I'll take a look through my games and see which one I play the most, as I'm having a brain fart right now.

Wow!

Plants vs. Zombies looks like some good fun.I also read there was 50 levels?You get your moneys worth right there.I read is what $14.99 if i read right.So that's not bad at all for what seems to be a fun game.

Some good old fashioned old school skills needed on that one.
 
A good game to get is LBP. Oh its downloads, Tekken 5 DR! :grin:

It's extremely fun, but I'll warn you right now. The music will be stuck in your head for days and you'll annoy everyone around you. :p

I also noticed on another thread you were kind a torn between Dead Nation and Wipeout. Dead Nation is a very fun top down shooter, and it has online co-op so you can do the campaign with a friend. It's kind of like Dead Ops arcade on Black Ops (don't know if you've ever played that, but it's my favorite part of the game) but obviously more fleshed out and much more rewarding.

Wipeout is fun as well but it is also very challenging. You'll need to spend hours upon hours memorizing every track (like any other racing game) and you'll need to mess with sensitivity settings and such to get the most out of playing it. Wipeout HD is the first Wipeout game I've played, but it reminds me of a more intense F-Zero or Aero Gauge for the N64, if you ever played that.

All in all you'll probably get more gameplay out of Wipeout, but you'll more than likely get really frustrated before you get god at the game, whereas with Dead Nation you pretty much start having fun right away. Hopefully that helped, rather than make your decision even harder. :ouch:

Nice.I'm an old school gamer and grew up on things like that.I'm right now looking through the store but haven't got to that one yet.I'll be sure to look at the preview if it has one.

Done got Little Big Planet :D.I can't wait to play it.I was gonna wait until i empty out my wallet on PSN before i got to it.

I was a big fan of Tekken when it was in the Arcades.I'll definitely take a look at it.👍

I decided against Wipeout HD as i had a bad memory about the game.I remembered playing it at a friends house and wasn't too fond of how it played.

I did get Dead Nation it looks to be a pretty decent game.

At the moment i'm making a list of the games i think would be good.I'll post them later.

I always like a 2nd or 3rd opinion on games as this helps me figure out what i would like best.

Alien Breed Impact - On the fence on this one. - $9.99

Castle Crashers - $14.99

Deathspank - $14.99

Dungeon Hunter Alliance - $12.99

Joe Danger - $14.99

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - $6.99

Plants vs. Zombies - $9.99

Swords and Soldiers - $9.99

I'm pretty much sold on Castle Crashers and Plants vs. Zombies as these two titles look to give me tons of fun.

Which one of these titles do you guys think would be my next best choice.
 
Joe Danger. I've heard great things about that game. From what i have seen it looks like a very fun game. I've also heard that a game called Fat Princess is good.

Fat Princess does look good.

That may be one of those i'll get on down the road as it looks right up my alley.

I've been reading up on this one the past 15 minutes or so and i've read nothing but good things about it.Especially the parts about how much good fun it is and how funny some of the storyline is.

I believe within the next month or so i'll get Joe Danger and Fat Princess,but for now these three. Plants vs. Zombies,Castle Crashers and Deathspank will be my choices.

Thanks for everyones help on this matter as i've found some good games to play and look forward to the other suggestions i will most likely get in the future.👍
 
I'm sure that Worms is discounted on PS+, so you could get two cheaper games for the price of one 👍
 
PixelJunk Shooter is a fun game. It's not that long but what's there is good. Plus it does have replay value since you get trophies for going back through the levels and collecting everything. I think there's a sequel out for it now too so if you like it you'll have another game to dl.

More titles to add to my list is always good as long as they are good fun.

Castle Crashers is nothing but mindless fun.I love it :)
 
Super Stardust is awesome, was 1 of my free games from the PS offer, really good fun.
 
Burnout Paradise is currently free on PS+ but when it's finished you can pay to get it forever if you like it enough...

I thought about getting that one as my freebie,but went with Dead Nation and LBP.It does look fun though.

Back when i use to play my 360 i owned that game.I had some crazy fun destroying other cars plus mine.It never got old.

Yeah, when I have nothing to play there always seems to be someone on Burnout.
